Ridiculous good fortune for the richest federation in football whilst Italy and Spain get drawn together.

Some of the groups are a complete joke and the ranking system needs scrapping asap.

England faced the top seeds in Pot 2, second seeds in Pot 3 and second seeds in Pot 4.

From a fans and entertainment factor these easy groups,even for England,just take the spectacle out of it.

Tournament performance is how they do it. The qualifiers being the localised part of a tournament.

But that's the point, being judged by beating Andorra and the Faroe islands in half your qualifying games is a farce???

Why? Every nation has an Andorra and Faroe Islands in their group.

I'd like to see smaller groups. Ridiculous number of basically one sided games where its predominantly attack against defence..

The bottom 3 seeds in each group (if its a 6 team group) should be made to play a round robin pre-qualifier, with the winner going on to be that groups bottom seed.

They don't though do they? Switzerland have Andorra faroes and latvia in their group whilst Croatia for example have just Kosovo.

Shouldn't assume anything. I've heard a rumour Southgate has dusted of Terry Venables old Xmas Tree Formation, with Ox and Sterling wide of Dier, who will be the obvious sitting midfielder. Alli and Lallana both central in the hole behind the striker. Bold if true.

A front three (when he's fit) of Kane, Sterling and Alli with Lallana behind them is pretty tasty.

They are introducing the Nations League in 2019, which will have UEFA nations divided into leagues based on their rating.
So the top 12 are in Division 1 - where they are separated into four groups of 3 and play round robin fixtures. Top team in each sub group then play off to find champions.

Yeah, Finland who romped to a magnificent 1-1 draw with bottom ranked UEFA team Kosovo a couple of months ago
