City could do a treble again this season. You could argue they'd still be the best team in England if they do, even if Liverpool win the league unbeaten.

Its more to do with citys playing style than anything. Very few if any left sided CBs can do what he does. Whether he is the best thats up to your own opinion.
He is important for Citys build up and he is very comfortable on his left foot making it easier for city to push the midfielders up while he dictates play from the back.
Its why Fernandinho is being asked to play at Center back this season which has had mixed results to be fair.
