Because the system is flawed, It isn't clear and obvious but yet they are trying to make a decision when they simply shouldn't be

Offside doesn’t fall into the clear and obvious guidelines.

It’s a black and white decision whether it’s by 1mm or 1 mile.

Don’t like it personally but those are the rules

Problem is that it isnt black and white. Frames arent always correct, lines arent always correct. Lots of room for error.

Another shambles. Minute offside in the build up that played no role in the skill of the goal being scored.

The laws need to be changed to adapt to var as Walton said. Phases of play, margins of error etc need to be identified. I'm sick of perfectly good goals being ruled out.

Absolutely agree but what can you do? Either go back to linesman doing it and getting some wrong or give a certain amount of leeway on reviews

Absolutely agree but what can you do? Either go back to linesman doing it and getting some wrong or give a certain amount of leeway on reviews

Just put it in with the clear and obvious. Auba v Man Utd, clear and obvious error. Someones big toenail possibly offside, go with onfield decision.

Should just give the advantage to the attacker if its marginal.

But then you’ll get instances where ones clear and obvious is different to another’s.

Personally I’d just go with lineman doing the job they are supposed to do.
