It’s not a surprise anymore is it.
Referees at the top of the game absolutely destroying football.

It’s hard work being champions
Referees don't actually understand football. Need to get in former footballers to be refs. I'm sure you'd get plenty of 35-40 year old former players happy to do the job.

I think that decision was very poor but knew it was coming. Soon the game won't be about scoring good goals, it will be about trying to win penalties and scoring as many of them as possible.

Yeh, I agree.
It’s just bizarre that you can punish a player for doing nothing other than what comes naturally.
So now, defenders need to try and defend against the best players in the world whilst also consciously thinking about where their arms are.
Ruining the spectacle with these decisions
Are handballs in the area penalties again or is it just a luxury for certain teams?
You have to be quite high on the spectrum to be a fan of this handball rule
Was it a correct penalty call?

Probably correct on the rule but just another decision that highlights the absurdness of the rules... and VAR.

can see why it was given as the arm was out and stopped the cross from coming in

Probably by the rules.. the usual smash it from a yard and hit his arm.

It was belted at him from about 5 metres away and his arm was in a running position and hit it. Not the correct call and I'd say not in the rules either.
Right, thanks guys.
The usual fackery then.
Although it's definitely a natural position. When defending a cross a defender is not going to naturally have their arms glued to their sides. It makes you less balanced.
some players now put their arms behind their backs now
you can understand it
No it isnt the correct call
He didnt deliberately handle it
How a ref can watch a replay and give that shows bias

Doesn’t need to be deliberate anymore. Just needs to be outside the ‘natural silhouette’, whatever that means.

Which is so unnatural, its ironic
Armless players are going to be the MVP's in this game in 5 years time.
