I would love to see some unbiased tech experts go through those lines and their level of accuracy. I really don't believe they can tell from those images and that tech to a mm.

Hawkeye works because all the camera's are there bang in line so the angles are perfectly lined up. The offsides aren't and you have humans drawing on lines. I'm still of the opinion if you can't tell from a still image without lines then it's not clear and obvious.

Basically use the one line going along the pitch. If they are at a point after that when they're still unsure and need to get the dotted line out as well, then say "fack it, this is mental" and just award it onside.

But then you have the issue of being within that margin of error. All you’re doing is moving the lines back. This has been the precise problem with what they’re trying to do in the Netherlands.

I used offside to illustrate that VAR is effectively the source of the problem.

If they used sensors instead of video, like Hawkeye, and goal line technology then the linesman could get an immediate signal that it's offside and he can raise his flag to get a taxi to the job centre as he'd no longer be needed.

Hold on....you haven't thought this through...
