Let's be honest, 8 of the starting 11 today will definitely be starting against Italy. Only 3 positions are up for grabs - the ones currently featuring Henderson, Lallana and Welbeck who are really playing for their places. Putting aside your club leanings, how did those 3 players do in the first half? Would you keep them in the team, and if not, who should replace them. (those 3 only - the other 8 are nailed on starters for Roy).

Sterling over Welbeck is the only change I'd make. Ideally we'd have a better CM next to Gerrard, better RB, and better CB next to Cahill. Maybe Shaw over Bajnes too.

Good effort - Reminded me of that goal against Dortmund that had ridiculous swerve and went in.

Sturridge scored a goal which glossed over how bad England were, and this is only Peru. Same thing will happen this half imo. Set piece goal. Gerrard to Cahill and again it will gloss over what preceded that goal.

In this formation, under this manager and with these instructions, very little, as it does nothing but neuter the guy's best attributes.

He's not flash and he's not a world beater, but he is a very effective, hugely positive midfield runner. Asking him to sit deep, recycle joyously and basically do a glorified Tom Cleverly job is taking away what he does best but oh so typically Roy Hodsgon, the completely drab and completely useless coach that he is.
