Sterling was very good tonight. Took a lot of pressure off England when they needed it and had the Danes on the back foot. Thought Walker and Maguire were great too.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Maguire has been really good at calming things and bringing the ball out.

He has been further up the pitch for England. Personally think it's Pickford that affords him that. Don't rate Pickford as anything special but he is better at organizing his box and is very vocal.

Saka's going to start in the final after needing an injury to get into the squad.

It’s his bravery to keep on trying to make things happen that sets him out. He succeeds a lot more than others do as well and yet they don’t tend to get the same level of scrutiny.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Never understood it. I rate sterling Albeit as a UTD fan I do partake in the odd wum.

Was it the leaving Liverpool effect? Surely it's not a race thing? Or rashford and Sancho would get it too

Steve Hollands words

Villa fan calling the radio crying about Grealish coming off
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Thought that was absolutely the right call to make by Southgate tbh. As soon as he made the choice to switch to the back five, Grealish was the only option.

Honestly I think as a keeper he is average, but he is vocal and steps out and controls his area. Something DDG has never done. Think it just gives confidence to defenders

as they're pointing out in spain, during the move which led to the penalty...there was 2 balls on the pitch !
ref should have stopped the game !

Controversial opinion: I still think Southgate is a bit average

The new Gazza (Foden) and the new Gazza (Grealish) have been absolute failures at this tournament despite the media building them up because they are white. The most disappointing thing for England is that their black players have carried them.

Agreed. Just seems like he always has a brain fart in him and his kicking these last few games has been awful. He can pull of a worldly though.

I agree with that. It's one of those decisions that he'll get grief for but was correct.

Not exciting as a fan during the game when that happens but they didn’t have a sniff at goal from then on, even if we looked less likely to score too. That’s Southgate though, and it worked.

Imagine Boris holding up a flag with Sterling and Saka's faces on it. Very unlikely.

It's a weird one. Part of me hates Southgate for not going for another goal. Especially as the Danes were dead on their feet and their subs had taken away any threat.

Then again do you just close up shop and ensure the win?

A goal from the Danes and his decision gets him grief

Think that’s an element of it, the press really went after him for quite a long time and it does have a lasting effect. That and he’s so involved throughout in every game, it lends itself to more scrutiny.

He's done well in building a team spirit I guess. But I think he's been very fortunate with his England career the way things have gone. Taking Grealish off for Trippier was really negative.
