I'm convinced La Liga is far easier for goal scorers than the PL is.
I'm thinking of the likes of Diego Forlan, Kanoute, Reyes, Carlos Vela, Baptista who ranged from fairly average to downright awful over here, and yet bang them in in Spain.
Nowadays everyone uses stats to say if a player is good or not.
I understand stats can maybe indicate things and also make a good argument but they are also very misleading.
I dont have stats to back up my opinion of him but watching him with my own eyes I actually think he is a very classy player and can see why he got so many goals for Valencia.
If you go and watch him you will see him make very intelligent runs. He doesnt run the chanels but he is always looking for the early pass slipped through downs the sides of defenders but unfortunately he very rarely gets the service.
I understand for 26 mil maybe we should expect him to do something extra but I think if our forward players can work to his strengths then we will see his worth.
I believe this can happen but it is a matter of the players gelling and this could take some time. The beauty is that we are still racking up points and I just hope AVB works on this on the training ground.
We need to get more service to him, once we do I'm sure he will get more goals.
He is definitely talented but I can't honestly say he is a better than Loic Remy who was available for £8m
I think Lennon on the right side will get Soldado
some goals. i think Townsend should also try and be a little less predictable.

It's more to do with the way we play and the service to our strikers than the strikers themselves. Soldado is a very good striker and he's not able to show this with little scraps of opportunities. Same reason Defoe hasn't been able to do anything in the league either. 7 appearances and still no goals for him. This is something that has stretched back to last season when Gareth had to 'Bale' us out with mostly long range efforts.
We need to provide better service and play to the strengths of Soldado.
He looked really good in the Europa league game which is the only Spurs match I've watched fully but signing a 28 year old for £24mill he can't really expect a honeymoon season adjusting to the Premier League.
How many more years will he have at his peak?
I actually think its not as simple as the service he is getting. Soldado, Ade like to run to corners a little too much for my liking. They don't demand the ball in front of the box. We actually needed a striker that is direct and has the ability to take on a player. Soldado doesn't really have a trick in him. For 26m this is what I would have expected. Pace or Power and trickery. There are loads of tidy finishers for £15m in Europe.
Anyway can't cry over spilt milk. We've got him so lets use him.
Soldado scores his goals from close quarters i.e. inside the box. At the moment we are not creating the chances for him.
Then Soldado should just stay there. No point him dropping deep to get involved in play. I'd rather he plays that lazy 'inzaghi' poacher role than get in the way of our formulated tentative build up. He serves no purpose outside the box.
Almost all of his chances to score from open play have been half chances. I tend to think the way the opposition have set up hasn't helped either. Spurs are becoming a really good team now and the lesser teams aren't going to play as open against us as they used to.

We need to get Townsend to feed the monkey this time.
