Yeah and southampton was it?
Doesnt give me much hope
The worst thing is they are so bloody pointless these ridiculous friendlies.
Southampton wasn't after an international.
Swansea and Newcastle were though, so 2-2 again at Goodison.
AAhthats the one my mistake
To be honest a draw at Goodison is never a bad result.
Obviously want a win, but a draw ain't bad.
Hull away and Norwich at home are the two games after Everton, so if we win those we will still be top 4 whatever happens at Goodison in all likelihood.
Everton this time though, should be the ideal game to get in the right frame of mind and intensity.
Don't think the issue is the international break but the teams we played. Swansea and Southampton are very good sides, who play as a team and if you're not at your best, you can suffer.
how long is the intl break?
At goodison we need to nullify Lukaku who's had amazing games against us recently. Hopefully Sakho is on the pitch for him.
A win would be an amazing result but as mentioned, a draw not too bad.
Notice Gerrard came off with a 'niggle'. Good work Stevie.
I'd keep Skrtel and Agger. Lukaku always goes onto his left, runs down the left, which is the defenders right and having two left footed defenders might be a bad idea.
Agree Silky, I fear Lukaku.
Strikers tend to score against the same teams and he has form against us
Everton should fear Suarez though.
Sakho is our best bet against lukaku, he wont back off if a challenge is needed.
Think Palace showed if your organised off the ball Everton's attacking threat can be nullified esp lukaku. Although saying that we won't have 10 behind the ball when playing them
I think we might go back to a back three against Everton with Agger, Sakho and Sktrel, just a hunch.
This international friendly is the most pointless one in the schedule, after teams have just qualified for the World Cup. The friendlies are pointless, but I guess they are there due to other international teams having to play in the European play-offs and they think it would be unfair on teams who lost more players than others due to these play offs, and instead make everyone have the week off and organise these pointless friendlies.
Anyway, a big win needed against Everton as it will reignite the confidence in the team to go on a beat Norwich, Hull and West Ham before tough games away at Spurs, Man City and Chelsea come around. Get in a good position after these next four games and the pressure isn't as high away at the top teams.
