I would be concerned if Soldado was missing chance after chance and to be honest I cannot remember too many glaring misses.
I am slightly concerned that his movement in the box seems to be less than instinctive (witnessed a couple times vs NUFC when he was static when crosses came in) although I do suspect that the selfishness of those delivering balls into the box is a contributing factor.
Problem with Townsend is that a lot of Townsends efforts are blocked, do not even test the GK and therefore his decision making is poor.
For me we need to work positions in wide areas a lot better, and also in our build up we need to create more space for Soldado.
It was good to see Eriksen get a bit right side and link up with townsend. There were some good combos as Townsend came in from the flank, played it to Paulinho who first time found Walker in space overlapping to cross...but situations like these are too few.
At times we simply need to overload parts of the pitch, draw out defenders, commit midfielders so that those in attacking positions can benefit from extra space space...for me our formation is too rigid & its easy to predict...The time for Lamela is now, more technical player I think he will combine better with Soldado/Paulinho/Eriksen, but it will take a bit of time.
it seems obvious to us all what the problems are but will avb change things he seems to have HIS plan and is very stubborn, will he change or will he be sacked first that is the question that I ask
Sandy my teams doing ok,your team are in need of a little constructive criticism, just helping out in your hour of need.
Quite often we do not get enough bodies in the box so the lone striker is easy to mark out of the game.
But one thing that did occur to me as to why the OP statistics on shots per player might show what they do and that is the bonus system.
Do you think that the bonuses available for assists and for goals scored might lead to some selfish play on the part of some players?
But certainly stardom does seem to have gone to Townsend's head and perhaps he needs to be coached a little more. The trouble is, one spectacular goal from him and everyone will forget about the criticism for 10 games and we could be back bemoaning the lack of goals again.

Haven`t you recently been beaten at home by both Chelsa and Dortmund, and last weekend lost at Old Trafford, Don`t seem to be doing that well. And Arsenal have actually lost more games than Spurs this season already, in case it slipped your mind. First difficult away prem game since you played Spurs and you got gubbed.
You only have to think about how many real good chances Soldado has had to score from other than penalties, and you can count them on one hand since he's been here. He is being let down.
I'd also question why it's Soldado that has been getting the brunt of criticism of all our new players. We paid a lot for him, but we paid a lot for Paulinho and he hasn't exactly been impressing lately. It was his mistake that led to Newcastle's goal and yet after the game I never saw any threads questioning him as a purchase.
Wenger hinted at a problem during the pre-season when he appeared to question the Spurs addiction to buying new players and the quantity of them in a shopping spree.
Perhaps he had a point in that now, at Spurs, none of the players know if they feature as part of the automatic, first on the team sheet stylee player that they all want to be. Apart from one or two that is, Lloris, Vert, Walker perhaps.
Perhaps AVB does not have that quality that Harry appeared to have of making players feel special and the moral of the squad is not what it should be.
There is just no way you can get past Sandy, he is unbeatable.
Sandy..........he not tough...........just smells strong.

My question is, would we be blaming the striker's team mates if it was Ade not getting the service - and subsequently not getting chances or goals?

Blimey he can talk, some of the rubbish he has purchased. Chamack, Park, Bendtner, etc, etc.

I don't think he was talking about quality, just quantity. The problem of bringing into a club so many new players at the same time.
A bit like your wife going out and buying loads of skirts, tops and shoes without working out what she wants them for and what goes with what!!!
My apologies to Mrs Brown for using her as an analogy.
Chicken...........................My question is, would we be blaming the striker's team mates if it was Ade not getting the service - and subsequently not getting chances or goals?
Yes I would & have done in the past.
Morning Sandy..............................Now it is 8.20am & we are flying to Invercargill this afternoon & on to Stewart Island from there.
And yes its a great place, my 4th visit.
Greaves,
Yes I would & have done in the past.

The thing we have to think about is that love him or hate him, our stats of goals scored by the team, with Ade on the pitch, are far greater than when he is not - and this is since he has been at our club - not just one season.
So why he is still being alienated is just completely and utterly shocking.
I know a few things need to change but surely changing the front line, when we are struggling score, is just basic management.
Just to contradict my own statement a tad, i actually think the performance on Saturday wasn't too bad, however that chance of Eriksen's where Krul made his leg extend about 6ft to stop it going in the corner, reminded me of the chances we used to create - so why is this the first time i have seen this type of chance in 11 games? .
My biggest gripe about Sunday is that, we haven't yet conceded a goal whilst Sandro has been on the pitch, and with the dreaded Friedel in goal, there wasn't a more important match to provide extra support to the "high line" defence we are still insistent on playing.
I know we all have different opinions on who should line up and how we should play but its decisions like the Sandro one that i just find to be totally amateur.
Its just basics.
Chicken, I agree about both Sandro & Friedel.
LLM gave us an insight to the Ade situation, apparently there has been off field indiscretions perpetrated by Ade & BAE.
Greaves,
Yeah I hear that, but for the benefit of the team, AVB (& the rest of the coaching staff) should be doing something to sort it out. Talk to the players, discipline them accordingly, clear the air – yet it seems easier to alienate them and allow the team to suffer.
Tevez refused to come on as sub for Christ sake and even City found a compromise or a solution to the issue – surely what Ade or BAE have been up to couldn’t be as bad as that.
Unless the club come out with a statement is is highly unlikely we will know the truth until either Ade or AVB is no longer at the club, or the newspapers dig it up!
