I don't know who I'd like to see least. Black Sabbath or Monty Python. Shouting while dressed like girl from a horror film or just being daft. Both rubbish for totally different reasons

Ocean Colour Scean at Rock City tommorow night. That will be a proper gig.

Oh dear Sutton. The first two are legendary, if in the twilight of their careers. OCS were a good pop band.

Definitely rubbish, maybe legendary

I always get a little bit worried when I agree with Sutton

OCS were OK, should be good. Preferred Dodgy myself.

The best gig, by a country mile, I have seen at Rock City was Gogol Bordello.

Saw sabbath at download the other year, the set was dire .

Ramstein, now 'they' can put on a show

You can't compare OCS and Dodgy. Dodgy were a novelty band, like Steps and Babylon Zoo. OCS had one of the best albums of the 1990s.

You are entirely wrong there SHH.
Free peace sweet was one of THE albums of the 90s.

Compare with Steps???

Fugazi.

Maybe the Steps comparison was harsh. They had a couple of ok tunes. Good Enough was pure novelty pop though.

It was Britpop at its best.

OCS, Dodgy, Ash, Boo Radleys, My life story, et al...

They weren't novelty.

Ash and OCS weren't, no. Boo Radleys kind of were. Don't even remember My Life Story - what did they sing?

Novelty doesn't always mean bad, btw.

Utter garbage, Sutton.

In answer to Rammstein being totally awesome - definitely agree with that.

Kev:

Any chance of your lot playing Bloodstock? Sunday looks particularly awesome with Megadeth, Amon Amarth, Saxon and Obituary all on the one day. I think I've died and gone to Metal Heaven.

Ash played Download a few years ago, Strett (2008 I think). They clashed with Testament, so I never did see them.

Don't get metal, OOE.
Just don't understand it; never have.

That's because you are too young, Strett.

I feel privileged to have seen bands like Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, King Crimson, Uriah Heep, Black Sabbath, Focus, ELP etc going right back to the 1960's, and I still love it.

Probably explains why I'm deaf, of course.

Aren't Rammstein shouty German racists? Deffo give that a miss. Why would anyone listen to metal? Wheres the swagger, wheres the cool? Bang some Stone Roses or Charlatans in your ears when you're walking down the street in your favourite coat you're the coolest man in the world. You go to a gig and smile, your cool, the band are cool the musics cool. Maybe even do a bit of rubbish blokey dance.

Metals just shouting for angry kids that were bullied at school and wanted to shock thier parents. It's not music. I was near the front when some metal band were on Leeds, can't remember who. They were on before the Bluetones I remember that. Some spotty
herbert in a hoody with metal in his face punched me then disappeared in to the crowd. No fun in that. I can get punched in the face while listening to garbage music in any number of Sutton boozers

Are we going to have to put up with your jealous utterings until you manage a victory over Forest again??

Stone Roses. I almost cried watching them live at Heaton Park last summer. I can understood and respect why people don't appreciate them, I'm not a music snob.

As a mad Stone Roses fan, I never thought I'd see them play live. So seeing them was definitely emotional. Other people might think I was shaking cos I bumped into 666 outside the perimeter!

Which night were you there? I was there Sunday. Was so excited that I got too drunk and now I barely remember the gig. I'm an idiot.
