He was immense today won every header that came near him

I completely agree, been saying it for ages. He looks very clumsy with the ball at his feet but his passes are usually very good and I'd be tempted to say he's better than Agger at playing it out. Oh and in the air he really is beast

it's not the best Liverpool team without sakho in the side.

Can't believe it's taken this long for him to get his chance but glad he's had it and taken it.

Didn't miss a single pass until 91st minute..

I'd have Agger and Sakho, no question. As solid as Skrtl has been of late, he still has silly errors in him, and I think Agger and Sakho would compliment each other well, and no both being left footed isn't an issue.

You can't play 2 left footed defenders. It doesn't work

Why? How many right footed partnerships have worked perfectly well? What's the difference?

There's a difference between right footed and left footed players. Two left footed CBs just doesn't work. It's a bit like playing LB right back.

Exactly, there are countless right footed centre back pairings that no one goes on about as it's seen as the norm, and just because left footers are rarer it doesn't mean it's any different, I'd say these two are our best centre back pairing!

The difference is there's a difference?!

Sorry mate, don't get this at all. It's not common because it's rare you get 2 top rate left footed CB at one club but in principle I really don't see the difference.

It's not rare for no reason. It doesn't work. City tried it last season as well with Lescott and Nastastic and it didn't end well.

Left footed players are usually so one footed that if you play one on the right side he wont be able to pass the ball. Also their positioning and marking becomes awful.

Very quick google search says left footed player make up 20% of players. Given that most left footers will be encouraged towards LB and LM it's not entirely surprising that left footed CB partnerships are rare. It's not their competence, it's statistics.

Left footed players are more one footed that right footed players?! I genuinely have no idea who you come to a conclusion like that. Even so, it doesn't matter. All that matters is how well Agger and Sakho can play as a partnership.

You may have guessed this but it's a combination I'd like to see tried.

---------Suarez---Sturridge------------
----------------Coutinho-----------------
-----Henderson-------Gerrard---------
------------------Lucas------------------
Enrique---Agger---Sakho---Johnson
----------------Mignolet-----------------

SUBS: Skrtel, Toure, Kelly/Cissokho/Flanagan, Allen, Alberto/Moses, Sterling, Aspas (forget the sub kepper haha)

That would be my first choice 11 atm, although I would like to see us sign a truly top box to box midfielder in place of Henderson in January, as hard as Henderson works, we do with more quality in that centre midfield, especially if Gerrard is out injured.

Btw, has anyone else been disappointed with Moses?

Moses has been garbage.

And as for the left footed CB partnership theory.... How many good left footed CB's are there? It's really simple why nobody plays 2 together, no club ever has 2! Nothing to do with being more one footed etc, there's no reason it should be any different from 2 right footers playing together. I'm right footed, but when I played CB I prefered to be on the left because I could see more of the pitch to spray my Gerrard-like passes to.

Exactly my line-up
Imagine Mkhitaryan for Henderson for that and a better LB replacement, we'd be fighting for the title (if injury free)

It doenst matter if 2 are left footed
its to do with what side of CB they play on, just rarely you get 2 top left footed CBs in the same team, theres only about 10 in the world if that and we have 2 of them
