We definitely need another defensive midfielder in the winter transfer window, was going to suggest a left back but Flanagan showing some consistency.Possibly Draxler in the summer, looks a really good player.Bit short on strikers and with Borini out on loan and Sturridge injured, possibly a loan signing up front?

You have to bear in mind the lack of mobility of Spurs midfield.

They are all big and powerful, but not very mobile, don't track runners, and don't make too many runs themselves off the ball.

I don't think you can read too much into one game, but it showed that we can rest Gerrard sometimes and use him as a sub.

I have been saying this for months and months. Athleticism in midfield, both with and without the ball is vital in today's game.

Without the ball we pressed as a unit...Tottenham had no easy 'out' balls due to evey red being switched on. This quickly turned into frustration for Spurs and our confidence grew even further.

With the ball, Hendo's energy and drive was the biggest plus point for me. As soon as you get central midfielders breaking through and running past defenders consistently then you are onto a winner. That is tough for any team to deal with. And we weren't playing Torquay...it was Spurs who fancy themselves a bit. It doesn't even matter if Hendo is not a prolific goalscorer (yet!)...just getting in there and making their midfielders run backwards is enough. Most midfielders don't like running towards their own goal. I was very, very impressed yesterday all round.
