I get the criticism of Giroud, but no way can you say anyone else would have done better with the first chance that you listed - it was hardly a case of Cahill just being faster than Giroud, he was infront of him and no other striker would have got there.

Also, an in form/motivated Bendtner is an extremely rare thing. Not to mention his fitness being up to standard. Against Hull he did alright, but he was not sharp and his link up play was poor.

Another option is needed, hopefully coming in the looming window. However, to those saying we should go for Lewandowski, he would miss as many simple chances as Giroud does, however he creates more for himself whereas Giroud does for others. Lewandowski would only be a minor improvement for the team as a whole in my view.

Giroud is not good enough, he no longer deserves a starting place. It is time Bendtner/Podolski were given a chance up front.

Arsenal played possession football, Chelsea played counter to attack our slow transition/high defense. We took our chances and they took theirs. They hit the crossbar once and we had 2 close range scoring chances.

It would be hard to say that either side outplayed the other yesterday, poor game not aided by the conditions, but neither side did too well with their chances. Giroud's miss was no worse than Willian's weak shot from the inside left channel straight at Szczesny.

Both team played 2 different styles yesterday, and no team really dominated the other, in terms of possession, shot on goal, corners, freekicks...
I have to admit Arsenal did not play a good game, neither Chelsea. Even Chelsea brought on 2 attacking players late in the game (they also took out Hazard and Torres), their attack did not improve and suddenly turned lethal. Looked like both teams were satisfied with 1 point.
So, how did you get that "outplayed accessment??

Major improvement if you ask me. Giroud's biggest contributions to our team is his defending from set-pieces and bringing midfielders into the game, unfortunately we need goals from our main man as nobody else will do it regularly

No, I'm not joking - they were from comparable angles, Willian had more time and had a better angle to play it across the keeper. It would not have take a wonderous finish but his shot was poor. Giroud's attempt was worse, but first time on the bounce so probably a slightly more difficult chance.

I'm not saying Giroud shouldn't have got a shot on target - he should, and he should be scoring more and generally doing but let's just have a little perspective. We need another option, that at least we can agree on.

Same, what;'s worse is I said Giroud wasn't good enough from the moment RVP left, he arrived about 2 days before RVP departed and I welcomed that buy as good back-up but when I learnt he'd be our main man I said it from early and I got scrutinised for it because I should give him a chance.... fast forward a year and a half and more realise but very few are still deluded enough to believe he's the answer

They may both be more talented than Giroud, but their attitude is just as, if not more likely to let you down than any lack of ability Giroud has.

Funny that this post turned out to be another "who's better than Giroud" discussion...
I thought we have quite a number of areas that need to be improved, than just bashing Giroud or single out a player or two.

Arsenal had 2 shots on target actually it was an even game. 1st half Chelsea were the better team but 2nd half it was Arsenal.
