Moyes pretending to be....

Welbecks wasn't a prnalty but anyone saying Toungs wasn't is an idiot. Completely took him out and could have been a red. I can see why Januzaj was given a yellow for diving but IMO I don't think it was a dive.

webb is a muppet

he is currently the worst ref in the pl, every big game he bottles decisions, not just against utd

personally i never wanna see him ref a utd game ever again. he's let the media influence his decisions for utd

Haha I think Rodgers thinks he's Ricky Gervais with some of his interviews to be honest I try not to watch them.

Although he has got us playing some of the best football I've seen for years at home, which can't be said for Fergie 2!

Cant really argue with that you lot have been playing some decent football this season

Visiting teams have been living with awful decisions against them at OT. Moyes must shut up and get on with the game just like all other teams have been doing for years.

posted on 2/1/14

Remember away teams at OT have been playing against 12 men including Howard Webb so I don't know why Moyes is complaining.

Grand canyon, with the greatest respect, that is a load of absolute balls.

The sheer fact that you felt the need to jump in with that horrific cliché is an admission in itself. United didn't get the rub of the green and in fact got royally rolled by the ref.

Your opinion, not mine

It is easy to have a go at refs, and I don't like doing it, but for me Webb is just an average ref, rather than 'the best ref in the league' title that is seemed to be bestowed on him.

Ever since the world cup final when he bottled out of sending De Jong off early on, I have thought he is ok but nothing great. He seemed as if he wanted to make sure it stayed as '11v11', but that's not his job, his job is to implement the letter of the law, and if that means sending someone off, so be it. Some of his recent decisions have been questionable, and his view was not obscured for the Young penalty, so hard to say what he is thinking there.

It's easy to fall into the blame the ref culture, and some decisions at normal speed are difficult to spot, but Webb has made a few poor decisions in recent matches.

Having said all that, we still should have got something out of the game, and it just shows you the fine margings - last week at Norwich we were relatively poor and won, today we had a lot of domination but still lost.

I can't stand moyes but managers should be allowed to voice an opinion if the referee has got it wrong, the FA and the refs associations are hiding behind draconian rules, managers and players get very publicly punished for making mistakes, fouls, misbehaviour and cheating, referees should too. not saying that refs cheat or misbehave, however when people aren't given a voice, you start to wonder what the motives are.

It can't be that referee's integrity is called into question and that might influence public opinion, as public opinion of most refs is quite low anyway.

I wonder if they'll be asking Moyes to explain himself like they did with Rodgers? This isn't victim mentality either, it was no shock to see the way Rodgers remarks have been responded to, I just wonder whether the FA will blow hot and cold or be consistent? I'd rather not see either manager being punished for speaking their mind after a game.

As a manager it must feel like being punched in the face once a week being told you can't do anything about it and to be ready for more of the same next week.

As for stuff being at speed, their refusal to use video technology is their mistake, there's plenty of time for review once an offence has been committed, there's always time, especially for contentious decisions.

Personally I think leaving the officiating down to a handful of people just isn't enough eyes on the game, they've clearly proved for long enough that it's not humanly possible to be 100% right with the current setup.

It was a shocker to be fair and he knows hes under massive pressure now. You have ti say something, so hopefully next time webb might actually give us simething because since the spurs game years ago webb has been awful for us! But hey thats life, were shitt so move on

If a defender made the same high challenge on young that lloris did it would be a straight red and no one would have argued against it. Quite simple really but as it was Webb and all the fuss about his decisions in utd matches and because it was young, with this reputation the most obvious penalty you'll see all season wasn't given.

But Young had already played the ball, the collision was after this and therefore no altering play.

What about the blatant Smalling handball? Or the Welbeck dive?

posted on 2/1/14

young got his shot away if hed scored no one says anything
its clear to both players what was about to happen

posted on 2/1/14

"Young got his shoy away" Irrelevant. Unless you think the shot he got away somehow constituted an advantage over a penalty. That is the only way Young getting a shot away could be a factor.

What handball?? The one smacked at him that hit his chest fookwit!

As an outsider it makes me laugh all this cr-p about Howard Webb not being a top referee, all because for the first time in god knows how many years, a referee has finally had the courage to stop being intimidated by the fans at OT, now that Fergie has retired

Facts are that Webb is our best referee by a mile and the rest of Europe realise this, hence his prestigious appointments to control some of the top European matches of late.

As for the penalty decision, Moyes is so desperate these days that he's looking for scapegoats at every verse end to save his own neck. My take was that Webb took into account the very wet and slippery surface conditions and fully realised that the Spurs goalie had no chance of avoiding the near collision with that famed diver Young, once he had made his decision to go for the ball.

So for all you moaning minnies, stop complaining when the very fist decision in many a long year at OT goes against your team and accept that under Moyes, you'll win sweet FA this season.

As for the crafty Fergie, he fully realised that this season would be a struggle for honours and he consequently decided to opt out, before his excellent record was tarnished.

That's a universal given, doesn't matter whose managing United or what they say the Scousers have to have their little whine...

Mirf Webbs been terrible for United for a good few years now, with good reason as well the Scouse and their many pundits tried to make out he was biased in favour of United so ever since he has made an effort to give close decisions against United.
