Very sad and shocking news. A very good player and seemed like a nice guy too. RIP Ian.

Some great memories of him from the 80s, he was a fantastic player for us, very sad news.

I remember that goal Ivan - brought back happy memories as a boy watching that. I wanted you to win that cup so much.

The fact it was an ex Ger that scored made it even better

53

RIP

Very sad news. That is a great clip Ivan. Thoughts with those closest to him. Far too young

Won't pretend that I knew anything about Ian as a person, but obviously knew him vaguely as player. Didn't stop me from getting a shiver when I heard the terrible news.

53 - no age at all - I'll be 57 in 2 weeks time.

As we always say, make football rivalries seem so trivial.

Graham Spiers has just tweeted:

I met Ian Redford 3 weeks ago at the BBC in Glasgow. He came over as quiet, courteous, thoughtful, considerate and very, very likeable. RIP

RIP Ian

Yeah very sad news indeed, and not old at all. RIP

It's funny how as I grow older, 53 seems a younger & younger age to die.
He was before my time but a shame nonetheless.

very very sad news

a great player and unfortunate to play for a very average Rangers team

I can still see his chip at Hampden in the cup win against Utd..

RIP Ian.
