Only for home games, did you not see how often a West Brom CM had a clear run at our back 4?
Too often they both went forward and left us exposed in the middle but yes, going forward they both help with our quick passing and fluid build up
...though my opinion is they will show promise for the first three or four games of the season, and then 'rested' and lose form.
I saw exactly what Benzeguero did.
Over and over and over and over again.
So yes, I really and genuienly do hope they're your first choice.
"I saw exactly what Benzeguero did.

So your saying it's the ability of these two, and not the fact we only played 3 in midfield compared to their 4?
Agree with Benzeguero. Both of them go forward and leaves us exposed at the back. If anderson and cleverley parthnership to work they have learn to cover for each other
I'm saying I think they're not good enough to be a pairing in a 4-4-2 because they both offer too little in defence.
If one of them was a Keane, Vieira, Hamann, Makalele, Essien, Mascherano type, then it would work. But neither even remotely resemble any of those on any level.
That's why WBA was able to bypass them with ease.
I think it's time we gave Anderson a prolonged spell as an attacking/creative CM. Why has Fergie turned him into this defensive midfielder and insist on playing him in that role?
Anderson can pass (both long and short), dribble and can even shoot now! Why does Fergie never give him the license to roam
Have to agree. For that partnership to work anderson would need to player deeper, can't really see cleverley defending too much.
Carrick is still an important member of the team and will be needed if we want to win no. 20
As much as people will slate me for it we need carrick to play in those games to give the defence some cover as anderson and cleverley play further up the pitch than carrick and so west brom could get players between them and the defence.
home games should be anderson and cleverlay and away games carrick and one of cleverlay, anderson or fletcher
Thing is, do we really need to CMs who go forward?
We have Rooney who now drops very deep that at times, he is almost a CM/AMC himself. If you have ROoney dropping deep and Anderson and Cleverly both going forward, theyll get in each other's way.
Can't wait to have Fletcher back. People dont quite appreciate how important he was to us. He not only attacked but also defended jsut as well.
I like the look of them, but I don't think they are first choice just yet. I think they should be given a number of chances together against the weaker sides, but not week in week out, unless they really click and make themselves undroppable.

It is important that one of the CMs to go forward. our two strikers and wingers occupy the opposition's CBs and FBs so a CM breaking forward will get goal scoring opportunities(especially if his marker doesnt follow him). remember scholes's ghostly runs into the box.
>>remember scholes's ghostly runs into the box.
you also have to remember Keane covering for him to do that

Thats what Ive been saying all alone
one CM should go forward while the other stay back and cover
Horses for courses
United do not play a set 442, the 2nd striker, wingers, & attacking midfielders are all fluid & can move into each other’s.
Against the weaker teams
Young Rooney Welbeck Nani Anderson & Cleverly are a good option. All 6 of these players can drop into the attacking central midfield role, Rooney & Welbeck can roam to the wings, & Young & Nani can take up the centre forward role. It was working well early on yesterday. However, after West Brom scored they started to push deeper & then we needed a midfielder like Fletcher, Park or Carrick, unfortunately Ferguson could not make this change because he was forced to make 2 substitutions due to injury. Bringing on Berbatov helped because he is the type of striker who can hold the ball.
Against tougher opposition we will have either Fletch, Park or Carrick in the middle, or use Park & Valencia on the wings.
Yes they absolutely deserve to play, would like to see Fletch back, and Pogba given a chance gradually. Morrison to get his head down and feature next year, hopefully Tunnicliffe will prosper in the Championship this year too.
