I said this the other day! Maybe we had to take one step back to take two steps forward.
Good article
Is there a way to have RVP, Rooney, Mata, Kagawa and Januzaj all on at the same time or would it just leave us exposed at the back.

With a more dynamic midfield pairing, a settled centre-back pairing and a better quality left back behind them, it could work brilliantly.
Wow someone who actually knows his football and talks sense
Great article. Hundred percent agree with every point made.
One thing I will add though is that if we are to switch to a more narrow 4231 formation, we'd have very few players who could fit the system attacking wise
Fergie bought players to fit his 442, the likes of young, Valencia, zaha and even nani would have to radically change their games or be sold to raise funds for moyes to buy players to fit system
comment by Postman Van Persie. Only a Mata of time (U1664)

One of them would have to be dropped (probably Kagawa) as you couldn't play all five...that would be like Mourinho playing Torres, Mata, Oscar, Willian & Hazard all at the same time...wouldn't happen. You can only realistically play four of them with two dynamic central midfielders preferably sat in behind them.
Ignore that last comment of mine.
I read it and somehow missed out Kagawa's name.
Four of them yes, all five of them, very unlikely.

Players who can play both: RvP, Rooney, Januzaj.
Players who suit narrow: Mata, Kagawa.
Players who suit wide: Young, Valencia, Nani.
I'd say that although we have a little more depth with wide players, the quality of the narrower players is greater. Plus, Young, valencia and Nani have very definite preferred sides whereas I think Mata, Kagawa, Janujaz etc. would be more flexible.
The main risk would be a lack of cover for our full backs but hopefully we bring in a solid midfielder to compensate for that. If not, we'll just have to try and outscore the opposition!
With the right system and players around him, kagawa can be world class, believe me
The problem is, arsenal and even Liverpool would've probably suited him more as they play patient, short passing football. We have always been a more direct team that relied more on width.
Let's hope so. If we don't change things tactically we have just wasted £37m.

Of course. As was perfectly evident at Dortmund.
I think we should sell kagawa to dortmund for how much we paid them for him.
The thought of Mata, Januzaj, Kagawa and Rooney interchanging with short quick passing and teasing through balls behind RVP is tasty.
