Not sure why you think Townsend would get on the bench but none of our CM's would.

Lloris, Vertonghen and Sandro would make the squad.

You are talking about a team that finished outside the top 4 after the first big spend and scrapped top 4 after another big spend.

They never brought in loads of players the next 2 seasons and did considerably better.

so the moral of the story is let the players gel and get a season under their belt before judging

I mentioned when Rednapp messed up CL qualifification 2 years running it would set our club back a few years. Suddenly being linked with the likes of Mata, hazard,Cazorla,Oscar etc we had to lower our expectation and shop at Asdi instead of Harrods!! You do spend money but you never know what you gonna get until the wrappers are off..
Its imperative we build the stadium asap so we can generate the revenue that would allow us to compete with the Championship manager teams.

We cant expect to go toe to toe with teams that have the draw of CL and deep pockets. Having said that I believe we might have got something back from yesterdays game as for the last 15 minutes or so in the 1st half we played with better intensity and we were not being dominated. Shame we had to witness another imcompetent official decision. We should not also overlook the fact that as a team we lack a collective physicality and better technical teams find it easy to open us up. Maybe its the system we play or the personell but I dont feel we stand up enough sometimes as men and show that siege and steel mentality other teams have. How many PL teams would have conceded 5 yesterday after going a man down. I personally dont think that many but just feel its happened too many times this season to be a coincidence. We need better technical players and a group physicality that I feel is lacking.. We have conceded to many goals this season against the technicals sides which is just plain embarassing.

Can we get 4th place?? Am not sure as I feel Liverpool and even ManU are possibly better than us at the mo.Could we have lost our chance of ever getting that top 4 spot for a while?? I fear it could be the case and am sorry Rednapp, thanks for your efforts but it started with your Capitulation..COYS!!!

The £600k a day is for the whole club, not just the players.

I hope she is.

City employ nearly 1,000 non-playing staff, they're not interns or on job placement schemes, they need paying.

The sooner these billionaire clubs break away to form their own league the better.

Is Joe Lewis on JSA, does Daniel Levy work at WHL on a voluntary basis?

Vertonghen is the obvious one. LLoris is a good keeper - some good saves last night, but we don't really need a new first choice keeper. I also like Sandro.

I think the comments about spending here are a bit sour grapes. In the summer you spent £100m, we spent £100m. If you'd spent as well as we did you be top 4 no probs.

If Spurs had a turnover of £290m like City then Lewis would probably salt most of it away in his tax haven whilst telling Levy to harp on to your fans about what a well run club you are.

A lot less but winning the league netted us £90m in prize and TV money alone, we earned more last season despite finishing runners-up because we got to the Cup Final.

How much were City turning over before the billionaire takeover?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Much less, but then so was everyone. The whole game has much more revenue, largely from TV money. We are and always have been a very well supported club. Amazing when you think we are 5 miles away from Old Toilet.

The bottom line is yes City are going to buy the title, no team in the league can stockpile players and pay the obscene wages they do, but their worse defender Di Michaelis is better than any defender Spurs have.

FFS I am sick of people saying this. Open your eyes, we made a profit in the Summer. We sold as much as we bought you thick mug.

I take it that is a joke Sandy. Dimechelis is woeful. Should not be in that Manchester City team.

Demechelis is a £2m stop gap buy. Lescott and Kolo Toure are/were in the final year of their contracts so I expect that will be our next, possibly our only purchase in the Summer.
