I was pretty frustrated on the match thread, and its easy to look at it as a decent away point with hindsight, but we didn't play well at all yesterday. The midfield was ineffective and Sherwood didn't seem to know how to change it up.
Frustration with the way we played doesn't mean we're doing down the team or singling individuals out unfairly.
I even think soldado could come good if we had a midfield with a bjt more gumption.
well we are crap....its disgraceful a top 5/6 side getting humped as much as we do....(i know that didn't happen yesterday)
and i'm happy enough with a point......but facts remain...ongoing issue's at spurs never get addresed...
1. defence
2. terrible (it wld seem) medical team
3.striking options
4.board either not backing fully/or having to much involvement in team affairs, sunday mirror(yeah i know) suggesting darth is already getting piffed with sherwood....highly inlikely its true....but wldnt come as much of a surprise if it was wld it now......
A point away at Hull isn't bad, it was the manner we got it that got me. We were poor up front, wide open through the middle, defensively shambolic and clueless in the dugout.
It's nothing to do with expectations, we were outplayed first half again. With the squad we have, we should at least be on a par with Hull. Poor team selection, poor tactics and inability to make changes are the problem.
Going away to the Tigers cage is never going to be easy and Tottenham did well to claw out a result.
Not a win but a point is still (almost)ggggggggggrrrrreaaattt!
It's expectation levels, some fans automatically think we should be fighting for the title and spending 40miion every window
It's not that simple
For some I'd agree about the expectations thing. Since we got CL some fans seem to think it's a God given right. That level of arrogance used to be the soul domain of the gooners.
My only expectation of the team is we go out and look like a team, and even if we lose we put in a decent performance. My expectation of the manager is that he has the ability to pick the right team and tactics...and knows how to change things when they're not working.
Not that much to ask, especially for a team supposedly challenging for top 4.
Top 4 is a very big ask this season when you look at the quality of the other teams.
Sherwood deserves his chance
Time for a new act brutus, you're really not fooling anyone

Think Brutus needs to drop the act, wasn't funny in the first place, why would it be funny now?

Its not that everybody expects to win every week its our total inconsistency thats frustrating.
We have one of the best squads in the prem and go from looking great to looking terrible from game to game.
Sometimes you watch and think is that player the same one who played last week.
Dembele is probably the best example of this. Then suddenly we see siggy lineup against city when the only person in the world who thought he was good enough for that game was Sherwood.
All teams have poor performances and results but not all of them look as clueless as we do at times
