Maybe the journalist is leaving MUFC and was hoping to spark debate. He was hoping for answers like

1) I never got on with Cole he was a right so I was glad he left and I don't wish him well. I wish Tunnicliffe good luck on his journey, because he's sheite and is certainly going to need it.

2) No. Unfortunately I used all my sympathy feeling sorry for myself. I don't have the time or resources to feel sorry for anybody else, particularly if they're injured

"You have always had the burning ambition to play for United. Does that remain?"

Pretty poor too, but it did get a good answer at least.

The lad is sounding desperate to get a shot. I've not seen much of the reserves, this year, but he was quality not long back... A couple of bench cameos might be the boost he needs.

Hey Ji

They could have at least asked him if he was in the Moyesin or out camps

In terms of Petrucci, I thought he might have more appearances by now although he did pick up a lengthy injury if memory serves right

he has an awful lot of competition ahead of him for his natural positions though

He's always stood out whenever i've seen him play. Doesn't look like he'll get a chance in the first team but should go on to have a good career at PL level (or overseas equivalent).

In CM? You must been on the wum or on the ale.

He is (or was) very much a traditional CM who could hold and push forward.

Petrucci plays more like a 10 the times I've watched him Ji

That was probably when Keane was injured and we were lacking options in attack (Powell as striker).

He is very much a central midfielder.

Ji

The times I've watched him, at best I see him as an attacking midfielder rather than a pure CM

Around the penalty area I find him to be a very tidy player

I wouldn't really call him a box to box midfielder unless, like you say, I've only watched him when covering for other players

Macca,

When i've watched him recently, he looks quite combative - much more so than when he first came to united when he was about 16. As i recall, he was originally a #10, as you say.

He's really developed into a fine all rounder for me, and as i say, has added a combative element to his game. I hope the lad gets some luck with injuries. A very good talent and seems to have a good attitude.

I haven;t watched him since his loan moves to can't say tbf

You think he could play in the 2 in a 4231 for example?

I would have thought he'd be more effective somewhere in the three

If memory serves right, wasn't he out injured for a good while too Berba?

He's been out for two years, came back, was alright in reserves, went on loan last season and then got injured for the rest of the season. I think, if it weren't for injuries he'd be in the side already.

Fek was it 2 years? I remember it being a while but didn't think it was that long ffs

Ya never know I guess, he could start to step up now if he can stay fit - which seems a big ask

He was injured for a while. Had a few bad ones. TRS could probably tell you more about it.

From what i have seen, i think he could play in the 2, most definitely. He has the passing range, technique and command of the ball (i was most impressed with him getting on the ball so often and taking charge of the possession) to play there. And he's looks to be combative enough and tenacious enough, too. like i say, to me he looks a really good all rounder and can also grab a few goals.

I know he got a cameo or two under Fergie in pre-season and i thought he might kick on from there, so i guess he is/was highly regarded. Needs some luck and a good loan spell. I've no idea why he isn't out on loan at the moment. Wasted in the reserves for me.

Cheers Berba

fek Vidal and Gundogan then and promote Davide

i think his contract is up at the end of the season... he's 22 now so if he's not in the 25 man squad (which i dont think he is) then we'll not see him in the first team

posted on 18/2/14

Yeah injuries permitting he would be in our first team squad for around 2 years by now. Very unlucky.

Well... it would be nice to bring a top young player through to take a position we badly need. Of course, we thought that would happen with Pogba.

What i will say is, based purely on what i saw of the two in the reserves, Petrucci actually looked the better player for me. Not saying he IS better, or that he could make the step up in the way Pogba has done since leaving, but no doubt there's a good player in there though.

As shugs says, at his age though, i think he'll be moved on.

It is hard to judge whether any of our youngsters could play a 2 man midfield as the reserves generally play a 4-3-3 or 4-5-1

I always hoped that there was a plan to filter this into the main team, but to no avail (Maybe SAF was planning such with Ravel, and Mr P, but we'll never know).

Petrucci is a midfielder. CM, CAM, CM? That is all semantics.
