I'm surprised he's not started more games.
You lack goals and he seems to have a good eye for goal.
Could we honestly say that Torres or eto'o would score those goals .....no

I was quite impressed with Eto's hattrick against United, he hasn't done it since. Nor Hazard since his, all were great to see but they do not make instant answers to our striker problem.

Only if you compare us to City and Liverpool, sure it could bite us in the bum should we end up on the same points at the end of the season but that's football for you.
Torres will go on a run.
Hopefully like Forrest Gump
But lack of goals could bite you on the bum and be the reason you finish with less points.
And Jose knows we have a striker problem and are overachieving with it Darren

So far that has not happened, further evidence that to persist with the idea we lack goals is a bit of a stretch. If we end the season level on points with either City or Liverpool we have a problem. It could happen but hasn't yet, we should be scoring more for sure but we certainly aren't lacking.
Only at this point in time. Earlier in the season when you weren't top it was costing you.
The fact you agree that you should be scoring more suggests you are lacking goals - it means the same thing.
Hazard is the only reliable goal scorer you have. I just find it surprising he's not started more games - either on the wing or as a striker, as he can score goals in either position as far as I'm aware from his time in Germany and with the national team.
You can't be better than top I always thought

If we were the highest scoring team in the league rather than the third highest, I would still want us to be scoring more goals.
Then why the issues with my comment? Seeing as you seem to agree you need to be scoring more goals.
I don't have an issue with your comments, just have a different view.
Glass half empty or half full kind of discussion.
Semantics discussion more like.
Schurrle is the type o player who in Europe roams behind the forward - similar to a Hazard or Mata but with less class and less as a playmaker. He's what you'd consider a false striker - exceptionally good in front of goal but not great in the build up. His pace should be a great asset if Chelsea use him well.
Schurrle should be playing up front from now on, even if it's just until the end of the season.
The only problem is that we might find ourselves a bit short of options in the midfield 3 as Salah was bought more for next season.
Maybe rotate Schurrle up front so that he can still play some games in midfield.
Maybe that's next years plan with Jose giving Shirley a weightlifting program
Schurrle reminds me alot of Robben when he first came. His passing is below average but can beat a man and had a vicious left foot (his right isn't that bad either).
I am sure as he develop's and gets used to the PL he will be an important player for us.
Our team atm lacks goalscorers, our strikers are next to useless and we sold Mata, we basically took 20 goals a season out of the team and replaced with Matic and Salah. I know they do different jobs but it doesn't hide the fact that we do not score enough goals.
Just ask Kiessling, how crucial Schurrle was to their build and set up play.
I think alot need to watch his game against Bayern away(in which Leverkusen defeated Bayern) last season, to see and appreciated what he's all about as a regular and confident.
