Don't get me wrong, I think he'd be a very good player at Prem level. But at the expense of who in the current Arsenal squad?

Ozil & Cazorla won't be going anywhere this summer. So as my post alludes to, any move for the Italian would be a case of stockpiling pretty string-pullers, all be it very talented ones.

Surprising that so many English papers are reporting so matter-of-factly that Arsenal have made contact with the player and his representatives.

I think a few Prem teams could well do with his services.

Doesn't make sence at all. He plays in what is arguably our strongest position. Maybe he can play the Arteta role?

We're always linked with players outside the transfer windows, then everything goes very quiet during the transfer window!

VERY clever player. So yeah, he could do.

Although I'm crossing fingers & toes for a Lars Bender shaped figure coming into the Arsenal midfield this summer.

Funnily enough, doing that (what you've suggested) would be a very Wengeresque thing to do!

I dunno'. He'd never leave Milan to be a benchwarmer and it's very apparent his agent is pimpin' his clients wares like a good un'.

On paper it'd be an odd move, under the circumstances. But the more I chew on it, the more I wouldn't rule it out.

whats the bet Flamini has recommended him to Wenger

yes he can, can play anywhere in midfield as well however he is another player that lacks scoring from mf tho.

We don't need another Arteta but like Moist said it's a very Wengeresque thing to do. We should be going for someone who can do the simple things like Arteta and is decent defensively lile Flamini. Bender or Gonalons were the two names in my mind

I'd rather we went for his Italian and Milan team mates in El Sha and Balotelli.

I agree. I've made my feelings about Lars Bender very clear. I think he's tailor-made for that Arsenal midfield.

People saying show Arteta the door? I'd keep him. He can prove a very good squad-player and holds a lot of sway in the dressing room and in the showers!

The reality is, there's only one NATURAL 'ballwinner' (at a good level) in in the Arsenal 1st-team (Flamini) and that's nuts in my book.

El sha is so overrated imo. Done nothing of note recently

We are always linked with players but buy no one.

Max players to come in this summer will be 1 or 2 and that again on the final day of the window

I've nailed my colours to the mast and admitted that I'm a big fanboy of Stephan El Shaarawy.

I think that lad would suit the Prmeir League hand-in-glove. He's got all the attributes you traditionally associate with great Italian forwards, but his work ethic and desire to run, chase 'lost causes' & track back is relentless. His finishing came on in leaps & bounds too (prior to getting injured).

Super Mario COULD be one of the best strikers in history (I feel that strongly). I've not seen a player with such RAW ability since Ronaldo (the Brazilian) or Henry. But the old chestnut that his attitude is a hindrance to the boy & quite often the team(s) that he plays for is a very true one!

I know Arsenal have been linked with Balo in the last few months, mainly due to the new commercial link with Puma.

But for the life of me, I can't see Wenger going there. Not with Balotelli being such a mad dog!

He was looking quite a player, but his injury was pretty sever and cut him down to size.

Also, as fate would have it, Balotelli coming into the Milan forward set-up really upset the dynamic.

Whilst Mario got about the goals, it isolated a few of the top Milan offensive players.

If we didn't have Ramsey, would be a decent signing. As it is, it would be a pretty stupid signing when there are a lot more priorities. Except he's expected to play the holding role which I haven't seen him do.

I actually think Philipp Lahm has that spot nailed on until retirement (or if Pep leaves the Allianz). So in this instance, Lars might well be available. Especially if Leverkusen's dire run doesn't sort itself out and they miss out on a Champions League spot.

Hope we swap him for Ozil.

Oh dear...

Would love him. Really like his style of play can replace Arteta.

Montolivio admitted he was previously obsessed with glory and playing an offensive game. But one summer he spent a solitary holiday in the mountains of China and this not only changed his outlook on life, but also his football. He's very much geared towards making the team tick. Very Zen!

With us also after Draxler/Griezmann or someone for that left mid position and Rosickys recent contract could it be the end of Santi?

posted on 8/3/14

No why would it be end of Santi? I hear he's signing a new contract soon. Before we bought a lot of rubbish. Now we're trying to buy quality for depth so getting rid of Santi and buying one of Draxler or Greizmann is ridiculous.

His goal scoring record for Milan is as good as Lamelas was for Roma.

Were at risk of overloading the midfield and not having enough in other areas. Priority should be defenders. Either keep Sagna and TV or find suitable replacements. And a striker too along with a backup GK. Then we should worry about the midfield

As 50mil has said, he's allegedly being offered a new deal.
