I'm not onboard with the RVP out of the club shouts, but I don think he should be dropped to the bench.
Our best football has come when Kagawa has played centrally, he actually links up the team as a unit. that said Mata could do the same from the middle
1) I wanted Klopp, would have taken Jose and think there may have been something in the Ancelotti rumours. He would have been a good pick as well. Heart sank when Moyes was confirmed but was willing to give him a chance. He used up his chances by mid January.
2) RVP is one of the best strikers in the World, fans of other clubs would give their left ball to have him
3) Rooney is a good footballer with a great career but his touch is awful, vision is nowhere near as good as our other creative players, has no positional discipline, has lost his pace and cannot influence a game.
4) LFC are reaping the benefits of several good players, some good youngsters coming through and a manager with decent footballing nous, tactics and philosophy. Rodgers has turned Liverpool into a decent side but has much work to do.
The issue you have with saying "RVP" out, is without CL football, who will you attract to improve??
I thinks thats the reason Rooney was offered £300k per week to stay
Pride - the stick kagawa got for ''not fitting in'' seems like a myth now. mata is all over the shop too and ist basically because we are static. the likes of kagawa and mata are pass and move players creating space with deft touches and clever turns.
who do we have that can do that? funnily enough welbeck and RVP
RVP is struggling but he is getting no supply at the moment
Lefty,
Messi can't even get that sort of salary at Barca. Someone at our club panicked. Fergie always said no-one was bigger than the club, this deal proved him wrong.
lefty - the whole no CL = no players is rubbish imo onn 2 levels
1 - because other teams have done just that (eg suarez at LFC was January signing too)
and
2 - simply because UTD traditionally don't go out and buy the likes of some that are mentioned. we buy young Ronaldo not Ronaldo now (if you see what I mean)
also rooney staying will be a rope for Moyes imo
Suarez signed from Ajax. There's a difference between CL football and getting routinely beaten in the CL I'd imagine.
I suspect he viewed it as a stepping stone anyway, maybe not now but at the time.
benched - for me LFC are riding the wave of a bit of fortune 9just my opinion here). of course suarez and sturridge is one but also the lack of other competitions. They have a system that is working wonders at the moment and the test for BR will be CL and PL and doing the whole ''tampering'' to keep players fresh etc.
Currently they are the most exciting team to watch, not least because the defence looks dodgy. for a neutral
We on the other hand have everything there in place but are simply looking like QPR from last season

Suarez was good..but it was an expensive risk that paid off. Buying a player form any other league..let alone one with a lesser profile, is a risk. Yes this one paid off.
However the same windows we boutgh Andy Carrol..we all saw how that turned out.
Would Saurez have come to Liverpool, if the likes of Chelsea, Man City..even yourselves, were willing to stump up the cash and buy him??
Once your out of the Champions leugue, your ina psoition where you have to find these "gems" before they are noticed by the bigger clubs.
Its easy to mention Suarez, the lads turned out to be a fantastic signing..but dont forget the likes of:
Nunez, Carroll, Traore etc..the list goes on
Benched - I think suarez may have had other issues too. but I expect LFC to be like Ajax initially in the CL ala MCFC.
Even arsenal tbh and ozil signed
lefty - I get your point but I don't agree tbh. Suarez was a class player way before he came to LFC tbh
I remember doing an article about him when he did the whole handball against Ghana (? was it?)
our own vidic and evra are others who are examples.
the likes of ericksen at spurs also would be up there
Red - You guys were linked with him but were unwilling to pay the cash, the reason was..he was a risk and at that sort of money..a very expensive one.
Erikson..who else was lined with him...I bet if Arsenal or Chelsea were..he woudlent be at Spurs.
You cant argue with the fact that with CL your transfer targets are of a more proven pedegree.
Even Moyes said if you do not qaulify he has to compose an alternative list.
Just to add...Vidic has been class for you guys..and its worrying (not for me) that him and EVra are being linked to Inter..vidic is almost a dead cert.
Poeple say the midfield needs strenghtening...but I feel with these 2 leaving..its yoru defense that needs immediate attention.
The Rooney £300k was a bit of a côck up in my opinion. It will massively inflate your wages in the future. Let's say you go out in the summer to buy a top top player; he'll compare his wages to Rooney's and want more. Then what about RVP and Mata, they'll want more money too so they are in the upper tier of wages.
RedReason,
I agree, everything seems just to click for them this season but there is a lot of work ahead for them. They need a lot of investment in defence, need to start preparing for life after Gerrard (Which we didn't do for Keane/Scholes/Giggs) and will have difficulty hanging on to Suarez should Bayern or Madrid come calling.

Agree - but in all fairness, Suarez will go for alot of money (maybe evenb hgher than Bale)..if he does go
That goves us the funds to bring in a few players to stregthen the sqaud.
The only issue is bringing in too many players. at once...and also blowing the money on avereage players (i.e. Spurs)
if Real come calling, and he does go for a silly amount..he has my blessing (not that its needed)
lefty - again I get your points mate and largely agree
I just think too much is made of being in the CL and attracting players or ''gems''.
the likes of sturridge and drogba and vidic are the gems imo not messi Ronaldo ibra etc and those players are out there if a manager has a plan and picks a team to play to that plan rather than individuals
BR has struck gold imo with his plan and the players. The likes of SAf did too with the fledglings. The test is doing it again without those key players and finding other gems
lefty - time will tell re suarez but I don't think he will be as keen to go now if you guys keep things as they are currently
He is your cantona imo. a troubled person and a trouble maker but needed to be loved
will depend on next season and keeping the current style and ''glory'' (cant think of right word)
we'll see. I just think if Real Madrid come calling he'll go, they normally get the player they want.
Next season, I think it will be tougher, teams will learn how to play against us.
I think this year, the flying starts and closing down high up the ptich shocked teams a little.
I watched the game twice yesterday..and I know alot of fans are turning on Moyes..but it seemed like the players were not up for it yesterday.
My guess is there is a few troubles in the dressing room, which are being kept behind closed doors.
You may be right about CL and players...this summer (Im guessing you will not qaulify for CL) will prove if it is the case.
I mean..if a club with the reputation and hstory of Man U struggle to attract players without CL football.....
Its all opinions I guess Lefty.
I just think some players play for a manager and fans and love the adulation and the arm around the shoulder approach
Next year will be your test. In all honesty I like BR but think he is on a wave at the moment and next season will be his greatest challenge. With CL and other comps and the ''need' for success after this season.
Don't think you will get the prize this season but IMO 2nd or 3rd is realistic for you. Not knocking LFC here just my thoughts (I have friends who have taken me to the KOP many times)
Your squad will need addressing for next season as outside your first 11 I don't see the depth currently and if I may say having a regular 11 makes things easier but juggling players is the test
