I found it very strange that ES were not mentioned once in the FL statement.

Maybe there is a way around it who knows.

Not a chance. Farrans group in the wings.

Does Farnan have the funds? I doubt it to be honest. GFH won't sell on the cheap.

Is it chuff still on!!!
Cellino's bid is dead in the water!
FL made the only decision it could - the right on.
Arivederci Signor!

GFH have shown signs of desperation to sell. If the Club is bleeding £1m a month then I expect them to sell to the next bidder as they've not put money in as Cellino has been covering costs.

I find it hard to believe he DOESN'T have a plan B. This is a smart, sly man whose put 6 million into the club and must have been advised at some point it was limely.

I presume their solution is someone else is named as owner and Cellino does the work behind the scenes.

Too many bul lshi t stories for me

oh... I came to see what the story is now that the takeover appears to be off the cards but it seems you're none the wiser

I don't like Leeds in a footballing banter-y sense, but I despise the way that football clubs are being used as egotistical currency with no thought to the true owners of the tradition and history of the clubs, ie the fans and I hope your situation is resolved satisfactorily sooner rather than later so you can get on with supporting your team on the pitch rather than concern yoursleves with dizzying numbers and business affairs off it. That isn't what being a supporter should be about.

like what Phil Hay said, the only thing to take from the statement is that it sounds like they are all looking for a way to 'repackage' the deal.

can someone convicted only own 30%?

If the ruling stands he won't be allowed to be a director or have the major influence on the running of the club. Not sure how they can re-package that unless he does indeed 'walk away' and Eleonora buy the club with him as a minor shareholder AND the FL accept it.

Still find it very strange the FL never mentioned Eleonora Sports. It's almost like they think it and Cellino are one and the same.

Surely all these various options would have been discussed with the football league to understand if any were acceptable?

The line '...continue discussions with the Football League and Eleonora Sport to find a solution that is suitable to all parties' sounds like typical PR bull for 'We haven't a clue what to do next, but bear with us.'

Same clueless rubbish they always come out with.

Look at the length of the statment! That all they could come up with??

"I presume their solution is someone else is named as owner and Cellino does the work behind the scenes."

Yorkie, exactly my thought. If Bates could do a sly one with no one shareholder owning more than x% and he still got to run the show, then there has to be a way they can structure it to get it past the FL.

Still amazing that the FL finally found the stones to investigate a prospective owner. Wonder what they
would've found on Bates if they'd been this gung ho back then? And same on GFH for that matter. Wonder if some parties involved stand to benefit thanks to this ruling beyond "protecting the future of LUFC"...

batty, this was laid on a plate for them. Not that difficult to figure out a trial for tax evasion was coming up.

Agree Jonny. Cellino has done himself no favours here at all. Can't argue with the findings. I'm still sick we won't have a 'football' bloke at the helm rather than the sharks.

Still though, with all of the stories on Bates (granted stories), no one seems too keen to dig into his past.

The gate is shut on Bates now and it's all in the past. What is galling is that there are still directors out there who fail the test yet are still running clubs.

it means that the FL cannot punish Eleanora sports for Cellinos verdict.

Cellino holds 10% shares, 65% are held by Eleanora Sports.

The contract is with Eleanora Sports, not Cellino as an individual.

FL cannot force Cellino to sell his shares, but can mention that he's not allowed to take up a major executive role, a minor one is ok if it doesn't involve the sole running of the club.

Wouldn't it be great if Farnan and / or Flowers get Leeds, Cellino wins his appeal in Italy and LUFC have their backs to wall wallowing in the shiite that bigger crooks than Cellino put us in.

FL don't want to lose Leeds, we generate to much money for the other clubs.

Harveys a pot toss of the highest order

and some people on here can't see past their noses..

Bianco Blanco

Two interesting parts, one at the beginning, one at the end

1. Leeds owner Gulf Finance House Capital has not given up on Massimo Cellino's company Eleonora Sport completing a takeover despite the Football League's decision to disqualify the Italian businessman from becoming a director of the club.

Hurrah to that, here's hoping that's true.

and

2. A rival consortium to Cellino, headed by Andrew Flowers, chief executive of club sponsor Enterprise Insurance, withdrew from the race to take control at Elland Road at the end of January.

Another group, Together Leeds, fronted by former Manchester United international managing director Mike Farnan, has been waiting in the background, but it is understood there are other unnamed parties ready to step up their bids.

GFH Capital has so far refused to enter into serious talks with Together Leeds after rejecting a "derisory" offer from them in November.

There are some on here would welcome these people with open arms...!!

Some would even accept someone we've not even heard of but who, in their minds, are chomping at the bit to buy this club.
