Cellino was voicing what the fans were thinking. Too many of the "professionals" in the dressing room have gone utterly missing of late.
For me quite a number have let the manager take the flak while they continue to coast. No wonder they like BM so much - perhaps he's too easy on them ?!?!?
Shocking results and shocking performances. If they can't handle criticism, then go play for a pub side .....
Yup sounds right Ceaser, sums it up for me
Poor article but wouldn't expect any more from the star. They got the figure wrong, I thought it was £25m, not £35m. Also, he didn't say those things in public, it was a private conversation that was recorded without his knowledge.
He will kick the majority out come the summer anyway!
Oh and all hail, they are playing for a pub side!
They ought to commence their protest by winning. That would throw him.
Golan ............. have to correct you there sir. They're playing like a pub side, definitely not for one ........
sounds to me like someone on inside is inciting a revolt, someone with something to lose.
if he wants an excuse for a clear out, looks like he's got one.
If its true that the players are not happy about criticism from Cellino I hope they have the nuts to let Cellino know..............then he can sack the lot of them. Weakest bunch of footballers Ive ever seen.
And if they are not happy about the treatment of McDermott they have a funny way of showing support for him by playing like a bunch of school girls........out with the lot of them.
We are still a chance of getting relegated thanks to these flogs
I reckon the Daily Star is relying on Falklands War-type journalism.
"I wonder what the Leeds' players will make of Cellino......."
Garbage. If MC is true to his word then Leeds United is the place to be. Footballers are mercenary, Premiership is where they want to be and whoever the manager is won't matter a jot if they get them there.
The Star is a cheap rag anyway, who with any intelligence would take notice of it.
All hail, correction accepted. That's what I meant.
I can understand kebe and Ross being upset with cellino, but he was right to say what he said.
Let’s hope its untrue, what we need most is a bit of stability, time for a manager to build a team and a set-up the academy prospects can look to and want to be a part of. Any sort of whole-sale clear out isn’t going to help this. We clearly need to bring new players in and likewise to get rid of quite a few – but we need to keep the core players that we want, not drive them away.
Criticising your players/manager in public is bad management. I can’t think of many managers that have gone down that line – except possibly Paolo di Canio!
Brown did it at hull remember. And he didn't do it in public, although he was naive to speak so openly to a stranger over the phone.
I'd forgotten Brown! not sure how much good it did him. He hasn't done so well since.
.. and speaking to a stranger that openly, he must have known it would get out in some form, he was either happy about that - or more drunk then he let on!
Oh it was a disaster for Brown. He lost the dressing room at a stroke.
Cellino was drunk. Didn't he say that at the beginning of the conversation. Still amazed at what he said but glad he said it. Surely the players will have a handle on how the fans are feeling. They must surely know that the majority of fans agree with MC and that a player revolt will go down extremely badly.
I think the players knew how the fans felt before this - we hardly have a reputation for sitting quietly!
I don't think the players will revolt either - they don't gain anything by that - its done now .... but if his rant heralds a exodus of our better players (the one we want to stay so we can build next seasons team around) then we're in a mess.
Flynn
Michael Brown...................?
The players are revolting.
They practically write themselves ! 😊
I played for many pub teams and got plenty of criticism!
Wasn't that because of your comical dress sense though NJS....?
Spots with stripes and that colour scheme...?
Hi Eric...What's wrong with playing inside left wearing a 3 piece suit and fedora?!
Note the old fashioned 'inside left'...whatever happened to them and inside rights?!
Hi Jim............i used to play Right Half, they've disappeared too
