Welbeck was neither good nor bad. Indifferent.

because United must try and qualify for Europa and win it.

It will be like Big Ron days for the next couple of seasons and you have to take the glory bites when they come which wont be very often imo.

Some of the best Euro nights ever whitnessed at OT have not been in the CL/EuroCup
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Thats all well and good but just look at how well teams competing in the Europa League have done in the league. Not very well. IMO its more of a hindrance in terms of scheduling and affects a teams league performance.

Not enough players willing to keep the ball, passing on the ground and moving. All just hoof-ball for Welbeck to hopefully get onto, poor tactics but down to the quality of the players as equally as the tactics of Moyes.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Completely agree with this. Bayern had no defensive minded midfielder and still controlled the game comfortably. All I saw was Vidic hoofing the ball to touch line

Happy we didn't get mauled, but can't help but feel that we had a real chance of going through and fluffed it
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I wish our Manager could have been a bit brave at times.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

how?

do specify how?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
There were times in the match where it felt like we were never going to attack them. This only just invited them to come at us. They are the best team but sometimes you need to have a go at them. The sub's were too late.

they didnt control the game until they scored the 3rd.

we let them have the ball and only won if back when they got close to the half.

our game plan was perfect

if mourinho did it he would be praised.

we scored, it's our own fault we switched off.

all this nonsense about bayern being in 3rd gear and not trying is nonsense, they will have been sheeting themselves when evra scored.

really dissapointed, we had them beat but completely let the emotion of the goal affect us. totally unprofessional but the players played their hearts out so cant argue.

you dont pay to support united do you?

I want to see meaningful competition at OT for the price of it.

if MUFC officially announce that United were not going to compete in the EL nest season or the next 20 years after that if we do decline until the day we get back to the top table then i would pack it in.

Bayern Munich have beaten United by more than a one goal margin for the first time in Champions League history.

We just gave the ball back to them too many times, eventually wore us down and hate to say it seems we don't have the quality to keep the ball for periods of time. Didn't push high enough up the pitch for me either, when Arsenal went there they were brave in the second half and pushed high, Bayern struggled to get out at times against them.

It's only a hinderence to teams with small squads that don't have much strength or depth like Swansea or Newcastle, the likes of Chelsea and Napoli have navigated a Europa League campaign and a good league season.

The playing Thursday - Sunday isn't an issue (should't be) how is it different from Wednesday - Saturday, it's still two games a week and we play games on Sundays anyway.

I believe teams who go through the qualifying rounds of the CL only play three games less than a team in the Europa, from game one to the final.
