Rubbing down the gulley
This ain't cricket mate.
When a player gets sent off and then in the interview after the game their manager says, "Well I didn't see it, I'll need to watch it on tv later".
Basically the only time that managers aren't watching the game is when one of their players is sent off. Funny that....
Running into a blind alley.
When there's been a really bad challenge and the ref calls the offender over and the commentator states......
"Ohhhhhh the ref's got a decision to make here"
"He was anticipating contact"

People that say 110%.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Obviously
All season pundits, TV and radio presenters had been saying "you can never write off Utd"
It was true that you could never write off Fergie's Utd but there nothing to suggest that you can't write of Moyes Utd.

When commentators say 'He can hit them'
Not so much fans and pundits but as for managers and players.
‘like I said’ repeat numerous times during an interview. How about coming up with another insight then!
'he's on £???k a week so he can't be unhappy / will always play with the passion of a local come good / love the club"
it's a job
better than mine, but a job nonetheless
'He'd play for nothing'
Bet he wouldn't.
But is saying 100% not enough?
It's a play on words, and some need reassuring that maximum effort is on display. It sounds better.
110% ooh that's impressive.
Reality is you can't do any better than 100%.

Of course they can mate
When a title challenging team (or relegation battling team) plays really poor but gets a draw and then the pundits will say, "That might be the point that wins them the league / helps them avoid relegation and then they'll look back on that game". No they won't.
Yes, and the standard: "there are no easy games in this league."
Eh? You've just watched City and Liverpool absolutely batter teams in several games this season, scoring more goals than I can remember! Were those all difficult games then?
'It fell to his wrong foot' as said diddy balloons it over the bar / past the post from a few yards out. So 50% of what makes him a football player is sub standard but excusable? Ever think of trying to train harder so that wrong foot of yours can improve ya lazy bassa! The amount of one footed players is brutal
Any inappropriate use of the word 'literally'. A Jamie Redknapp special. 'it literally makes my blood boil'. Now that would be interesting to watch Jamie.
Oh and 'an excellent pass, defender was just able to clear it'...so it wasn't an excellent pass
