Think it's classed as Violent Conduct which would of been a straight Red??

No, it would have been a straight red, being a stamp, "violent conduct".

Hence the 3 game ban.

Can I ask what Barton was carded for? Because the ref wasn't looking so can't have seen his violent conduct, and he can therefore be retrospectively punished, no?

How come?

Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks said so is why.

Because the ref took action (booked Barton) then there can be no further punishment according to the FA.

Should we not have got a penalty when Barton pulled up Gervinho? The ref had not blown the whistle, surely that was the first foul

Barton was punished for being involved in the melee that ensued.

The ref saw eff all, that's why Wenger was understandably narced.

The ref had Taylor screaming at him that Gervinho "elbowed" Barton and of course Barton was rolling around on the floor as if a peanut had found it's way into his bum and then morphed into 50 inch plasma-screen televison!

Possibly the same peanut/plasma that Gervinho fell over?

I know the rule but I'm wondering what he was booked for if the ref wasn't looking. If he sees it, it has to be violent conduct as well surely?

It's pointless talking about it again, I know.

=======

Taylor then admitted to not seeing anything and should therefore be done for deliberately trying to decieve the referee, right?

NO! It was a peanut, it only became a plasma screen when it entered Barton!

Also I would class Barton's involvement as "ungentlemanly conduct" rather that "violent conduct", which is a yellow card offence. Unless he was checking Gervinho's shirt for bullet holes to see where the sniper clearly got him, in which case he was merely trying to save a fellow player's life and should be commended.
