Woodburn's still very young but needs game time now which he isn't getting at Sheffield United. Surprised we haven't recalled him yet actually.
Kent isn't good enough for us. He might have a career in the Premier League but he's not going to start for a Champions League side.
I wouldn't mind seeing Wilson take Lallana's squad spot next season but another loan would probably be better for him in terms of playing time. Maybe if Derby go up he'd stay there for another season.
I think Shaqiri has taken Lallana place. Wilson could and should be Salah's understudy. This is planned too apparently which is why Wilson signed a long contract and then immediately went out on loan. If he does well he's been assured of chances.
Woodburn has dropped off a cliff. Not sure what's happened there but he wouldn't be the first to get more money and then stall at a young age.
We've apparently bid for the young Turkish lad but I suspect we'll only do that if we sell Lallana this window (which we may). Not sure if Lallana would move though, he's as good a chance of winning a major trophy as he ever will.
How many young players that we have sent out on loan to the championship in the past have actually come back a better player and subsequently had an impact for us?
Correct me if I’m wrong but I can’t think of any.
What the likes of Kent (22) and Wilson (21) at their age is games in the premier league to become better players. Unfortunately getting teams to take and play them is difficult but I still think we could do better than we currently are.
Yeah it's not a great sign but as mercenary as it sounds it's profitable and we're very good at it.
But Wilson was given a five year contract and I think he'll be in the squad next season.
People still clinging on the hope that Woodburn might make it?
The problem with Woodburn is that whenever I've seen him play he doesn't play with pace, isn't big or strong and therefore gets shunted out to the wing. He's an old fashioned number 10 for me, a Sheringham type. He needs games in his position, even if he has to go lower to get them.

19 maybe but struggling to get championship football. He never really looked a player when he got a chance for us. Scored a tap in on his debut and done not much else since.
Lots of players struggle on loans, not sure its a massive reflection on them.

Bottom half prem player is hardly a poor standard for our sauad
