I've managed to shed half a stone over lock down. I get myself out for a 5-10 k run every day now I'm home every day. I am drinking more but the exercise is definitely the key.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

You've got to be young then? I'm doing something 5 days a week and it's just about keeping the wolf from the door because of the increase in drinking!

If I was exercising this much in my 20/30s I'd be in great shape. Mid-40s and it's just about doing the job but no more!

All I have had all day is a bowl of thin vegetable soup. I'm starving. I need to try anything to not have to give up beer. I'm open to suggestions.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I intermittently fast, don't eat for 20 hours a day and just drink water, usually infused with lemon or mint, or both.

Was a little hard at first but gets really easy and second natured. At first you can eat whatever you want for the two meals, i had breakfast foods for lunch originally, then a normal dinner. Now I have a protein shake for lunch (with milk) and a normal dinner.

You naturally eat less calories and flush your body through with the water, ive certainly had more energy since doing it. And fat burning cardio is 3x more effective if you do it before eating, so your mornings work and activity counts for a lot more...

I'm late 30s but before I was doing zero exercise bar walking a round of golf every now and then. I've also cut beer out completely. I've got into my wines the last 6 months so I'm all about that now.

I'm fine drinking wine but it's not very sociable when you're watching a game with mates and you're sipping glasses of wine.

20 hours a day? How does that work? I'm not even eating that much. I have a yogurt for breakfast, soup or a sandwich around 10am and then I don't eat again until dinner around 6pm. I then don't eat again until breakfast. However my weight goes up and down by a kilo or two throughout the week. The football up the shirt remains.

Doing well then mate, from very little to 5-10km a day! And half a stone in late 30s is good going.

I’ve long been a red wine convert, even formed part of the honeymoon with Mrs Naby8, but it’s not a huge advantage in the quantities I drink

I do some of that intermittent fasting too. For me I try to have dinner early and late breakfast/lunch. From 6 in the evening to 11 am the next day is 17 hours. Often end up having a proper meal instead of breakfast. I can snack after that lots of liquids and sometimes a pudding topped with some ice cream then early dinner again, maybe some tea in the evening if possible. This system fits my work, travel and sometimes helps my acclimatisation to new destinations.

Well I do 18-20 hours a day, I'm not rigid with it like some.

I'll generally eat at 2pm then have tea between 6 and 8pm, between those times I'll only have water as I suggested and occasionally (3 nights a week or so) a cheeky beer.

I have noticed my appetite reduced through it too, which I assume was due to a reduction in the size of my stomach (if indeed it can shrink back?!)

Theres some solid scientific principle behind it too, I probably started it at the same time I went flexitarian, so that might have an impact too, but I've definitely seen a lot more energy a massive reduction in farting too
