We looked better because Ajax went for broke and left so much space at the back. Had we had Mane and Salah still playing we would have scored the 2nd goal.

I know it's still really early days and he's not done a huge amount as yet but I really like what I see from Jota. Looks a player to me.
Shaqiri didn't really seem to "do" anything. Just seemed to be running about but with no real purpose or intent really. Minamino looked ok and Jota looked sharp as well. Need to be more clinical though really.
Now that we are on CB watch. Was anyone else impressed with Ajax CB Schuurs? He is only 20 and he did play well against Mane which is no mean feat.

Was looking at Shaqiri last night thinking he'd probably fit quite nicely at Ajax; slower league and a dominant attacking team. Wonder whether Klopp gave him a run to remind ten Haag he was there and available
He's probably about 7th in line for a front 3 place now I'd have thought. Possibly 8th if/when Ox is fit.
I think Minamino should get more game time...not just because Firmino is out of form.
He just looks like he wants to play.

Right now I think I'd be more inclined to either play Salah/Mane as CF and bring in Jota. Or just have all 3 rotating.
But that's just down to personal preference from what I've seen so far from Jota and Minamino.
Minamino to me looks a bit sharper than what Firmino does, but not as successful in that position. If he can get some decent minutes under his belt, then I think he would do well there.
Minamino is quite good at a lot of things but excels at absolutely nothing.

Yeah was very impressed with Schuurs, looks like the next prodigy off the Ajax conveyor belt.
Would be nice if we were the ones to capitalize on it this time round.

It is more based on the history of them buying Vertonghen, Alderwereld and Sanchez from Ajax. They are looking for a new centre back as they were interested in Skriniar of Inter.

? salah mane n firmino had the best chance of the match, ajax were open n space was there first half, numerous corners left us 3v3 at the back vs them. Salah missed arguably our best chance of the game.

last time spurs bought a cb from ajax he cost them their record transfer fee and his names davinson sanchez
Also ajax dont spend money and the wages are low? 16m euro for blind i thinks the highest transfer fee paid by any dutch team, 11m euro for ziyech n tadic.
ajax have made 250m net profit from transfers since 2015. 50m a season net profit. poor b*st*rds getting milked. Imagine how good theyd be if they could keep their top talent n spend? They'd be the dutch bayern, monopoly of the dutch market.
