Tackling average of Upamecano is 2.1 vs 1.4 of Gomez and is a better reader of the game and much more aggressive.

He struggles with the aerial duels and who commit a lot of fouls.

Kabak has similar stats to Upamecano.

Kabak must have come from Klopps mate Wagner. I remember when he recommended Chilwell when he was at loan at Huddersfield. Luckily we got a better player in Robbo.

Everton really are a disgraceful team. They are putting opposition players careers at risk every week with these horrible challenges.

dont read into stats like that, lesser teams will make more tackles they wont have as much of the ball etc.

Upamecano looks a player though. If we miss out on him itll be like missing out on werner again pretty sure werner had buyout clause of 27m at one point too.

Upamecano would be the top priority for me if I had to choose out of any realistic CB's at the moment.

We hardly ever buy these flavour of the month players.

And as yet all of them have failed to kick on in the premier League.

Werner isnt tearing it up, there were fackin histrionics here when we "missed out" on pepe and he's done fack all...

I'd be surprised to see us buy a player for the sake of covering VVD, anyone bought in will be for the 4th choice spot we have empty. Hopefully to push matip and Gomez. Other than that we will rely on the youth to cover.

And I predict we will be just fine now Allison is back to restore some composure

Upamenco does look very good to me. Our record with French players is absolutely appalling though, not sure we even have one in the squad atm.

I said this at the back end of last season and in the summer though, a CB wasn't necessary because of being short of cover or in case of this situation, a CB needed to be signed because that's where the team needed improving imo. We can all see the reasons why with Matip's injury record, Gomez's inconsistency, Fabinho out of natural position etc.

I actually disagree with you here. I don't think Gomez and Matip are good or reliable enough to be our first choice partner to VVD.

Personally think the signing we make will eventually become a long term partner to VVD.
