We know the front 3 arent bad they just need to get out of this awful form where they keep making wrong decisions or poor touch pass cross shot etc. Thought the Palace game would give confidence but did it fack.

Thats the team id go with anyway and if its not working shaq n jones from the bench prob best options we've got.

1.6% - Since scoring with seven of their 14 shots against Crystal Palace (50%), Liverpool have scored just one goal from 62 shots in their last four Premier League games, a conversion rate of 1.6%. Problems.

We will finish ahead of United and by a few points I think.

Probably not 10 like I suggested but I think they will fall away just like Spurs did. Think City win it from here and we come second.

I'd be happy enough with that at this point. Injuries really have been a biiiiitch this year. It's felt a really long season and we are only 18 games in.

Does anybody know how many assists Robertson has got this season? I'm sure the stat that appeared yesterday said that TAA (could have been Robertson) has 3 assists in his last 26 games, which seems a fair bit less for what you'd expect, chances created seem to be drying up in the wider areas, is this because teams are now coming to be well equipped to deal with the full backs as they are the main source of chances created?

Thiago adds a lot to the midfield, his quality of passing is superb, but then I think of the likes of Wijnaldum and he seems to be happy to move the ball on into wider areas rather than be a creative force himself. Keita is a very dynamic midfielder who has good footwork and can glide past a couple of players that opens up space but other than maybe that, where else does the creativity come from in central areas?

I think the goals have dried up due to the full backs not delivering the same quality or because teams are starting to plan to stop Liverpool in the wide areas (or both).

If we can get to the City game knowing a win takes us within 3 points then we will have done well considering our recent form. That will require getting 4 points from Spurs and West Ham despite our away form being terrible.

Before City game:

Burnley (H)
Spurs (A)
West Ham (A)
Brighton (H)

10 points needed. City after us play Spurs, Arsenal and United in next 4 but we also play Leicester and Everton in that time too. Plenty to play for hopefully.

7 or 8 would be my prediction. Expect us to get a draw/lose vs Spurs and drop points in another game.

Brighton might be a problem.

They all have potential to be problems when the goals have dried up. Burnley is always a tough game, Spurs will defend for 90 minutes, West Ham are having a good season and Brighton are better on the road.

It's a done deal for Real Madrid and they are looking to send Militão the other way maybe in Jan meaning that's 2 defenders we won't be getting.

I'd be shocked if we signed Alaba. Thiago is one thing but Alaba would command immense wages and I'm not sure it would go down too well with the likes of Mane, Salah etc. The latter is looking for an improved contract apparently already.

He should probably focus on doing his job first but hey ho!

Club are right to wait till summer to offer Salah a new deal. He will be on 2 years left and will probably get a rise but nothing Auba, DDG, KDB wages who are on 300k plus (Auba 375k).

The club don't want to offer high wages when players enter their twilight years. Ozil is a prime example of this.

Has Salah looked at his form this season

posted on 19/1/21

Last few games Salah has been poor. He had Maguire waving the white flag when he was running at him but he never looked like beating him. He is still our most lethal forward but at 29 we need to be careful we don't do a Arsenal.

Do we think when Jota is back we will try to play all four of them again or does one of them get dropped for a bit?

posted on 19/1/21

Salah, Mane, Bobby, VVD and Fab will all be on 2 years left come summer. Edwards has his work cut out with contract renewals.

VVD and Fab will get a new one

Mane yes

Salah maybe

Bobby maybe not

I'm talking about pay rise.

Our contracts are heavily incentivised on performance. I'd wager they all get improved contracts however if they continue on this season's form then Edwards will have more leverage than he required.
