We have played well. I see an improvement in our passing and have created chances in this game.

Different game on Thursday. Spurs will park bus and there won't be the space we saw today. It is another defeat.

Decision making around the box was far better. Actually had movement and good link up play instead of cross after cross.

A better performance, particularly attacking wise, but another defeat all the same, and one to our most bitter rivals, so another grim evening.

Owners unwilling to help the manager solve an obvious problem that will likely wreck the whole season is the more dispiriting thing for me though.

It's not the owners fault that Firmino and Mane have forgotten how to play football in fairness and they bought Jota anyway.

Klopp chose to play him in a dead rubber CL match, not John Henry.

Just saw a post that summed things up for me.

City and Pep will always be contenders because they've got a chequebook they can open whenever things get tough and they need a fresh injection in the squad.

Unfortunately we don't have that, we built one title winning side but we don't have the financial clout to build another, and then another the way City have.

We need several transfer windows to build a quality team while City can do that in one window.

Right now we probably don't, we just need to invest in players just like Jota but right now the owners should be investing in a proper centre back if we've any hopes of retaining the league. Although I'd argue that's gone.

We probably have enough to get European football and I think the owners will be happy enough which is annoying

I feel we will be relying on getting 10-12 league games out of Matip to finish in the top four, it’s looking ultra competitive this season.

Got a pretty horrendous run of fixtures up until the end of February now, so we’ll know what we are competing for after that, I’m pretty certain.

I thought there was a tactical change in our positioning of the wide players. They played more in the space between the CB and fullback. Salah also made those runs behind the opposition defence like his first goal and the chance which was saved by their goalkeeper.

We need Matip for 10 games until Virgil is back if we want to finish in the top 4.

Don't want to rush Virgil back. If we get Europa League it's on the owners.

It's been an embarrassing title defence tbh! The fact we are even talking about struggling for CL is really bad.
