Wouldn't surprise me if the plan this summer is to buy a Gini type cm who can play backup to Fab if needed, and then next summer we go all out for Bellingham
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'd be happy with that but I do think we probably spend quite a bit on a CM this year, especially if we were already looking at Tchou. We would appear to have the funds, and would also have the need if we're selling Ox and Keita too
Also Ox was very useful in Jan-Feb while Mane/Salah/Keita were away but if he left, you'd imagine Carvalho would be taking his slot straight away.
We should get 140m if we sell the fringe players and Mane.
Ox 15m
Phillips 20m
Williams 15m
Keita 50m
Mane 40m

Call it jealousy, which turns it from annoying to quaint.
Also, only Twitter conjecture but apparently PSG want Keita for £50mn or EUR50mn, not sure which. For that much, would be tempted tbh even if he does appear to be over his injuries now for us
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'd give them a 10% discount

Take £45m of Keita for that shot alone
Keita is a far better player than Hendo.
If you talk about Keita’s one shot, you just gloss over Hendos three or four big side foot swings to the back post that yield fack all - every single game.
He's not as consistent as Hendo though.
He's been good this year and I'd like to keep him to see if he can kick on further, but if someone actually is offering £50m then I'd bite their hand off and cut our losses.

"It's a first touch cross from Hendo, and..."
Tbh I don't think Hendo should be the benchmark for quality in our midfield. He brings a hell of a lot to this team but he isn't a patch on Fab or Thiago in terms of his footballing abilities.

He needs a new contract or a new club and what a surprise he's now fit most of the time.
Usually I'd want to keep him but I'm afraid he'll revert back to the treatment table as soon as he signs a new contract. Seen it many times before.
We really need that midfielder who can link the midfield with the attack and also possessing the quality to shoot from outside the box.

I used to like Neves for this.
He's more of a DM but it's not a bad shout, just checked and he's only 25 and the hype (and therefore inflated fee) around him has disappeared too
Neves lacks pace for me. We already have a slowish midfield so need a better athlete who can play.
He's good technically and positionally though, don't think you necessarily need pace in midfield
Linked to Martin Terrier today. 21 goals and 7 assists aged 25 as a support striker.
Someone tweeted that Melissa said we are interested in Nunez
So it sounds like Salah will be off as well next summer then

What's the latest or is this another Robbo being captain of you know who?
Pearce confirming he will leave unless a significantly improved offer is made (which we know likely won't happen)
Also says he wants to stay in the Prem after leaving.
We've known for about 2 years now that he's not signing
Pearce recycling old news it seems.
I've always said he will join Newcastle with the Saudi investment phase 2 kicking in.
Apparently Mane wants close to 400k/pw as well now.
Do we play hardball with Bayern for the 50mil...or cash-in?
I think this deal closes at 40mil tbh...which is decent money for someone in the last year of his contract
It's player power now. We've basically facked up and now we either pay what they want or they leave this season or next season.
