Swap Jones for Jags and Barkley for Henderson, then you have a good team.
jags for jones fair enough but barkley has been sensational this season with some out of the world goals.
Not for long. The media will start small and build up to the usual euphoria, before sinking claws and ripping the jugular as it crashes down.
That said, decent squad picked from hodg, now it depends on how he uses it. The heat and humidity is going to be a major enemy for the hustle bustle style. Will probably suit Italy quite well.
Agreed OP.
England have a very good team. If they had a top manager like Martinez/Rodgers playing attacking football we'd be a genuine threat.
The likes of Sterling, Shaw and Barkley shows we're now producing top class technically quality footballers

For me we've not won a world cup for so long down to the media putting so much pressure on our players.

Exactly. For the pool of players often taken to the WC and Euros, the depth and talent has been there. Perhaps the right manager has not, but capitalism rules with an iron fist in blighty, and any way they can build up the euphoria (to boost sales/web views-advertising etc) before ripping it down, they will . It's all about the sales/views/advertising money. They want failure, scandal. It sells.

Spot on!! save Barkley for the 70th min impact sub, Henders will be more consistent overall. Jones hasnt had enough game time as CD
No doubt Woy will start with James bloody Milner
It is not the players it is the manager. Roy hodgson is an awful manager for a big team and england is still a big team despite not winning anything.
Roy will play his not quite 4-2-3-1 everyman behind the ball when not in possesion and hope to counter or get a set piece goal.
I was looking at the euro 2012 the other day the impact of andy carroll was immense. It unsettled the defence lambert will not have the same effect.
Hope for the best but expect to be let down and it will be the formation tactics I can see it a mile off its so frustrating.
Sorry op I see youve stated the same thing about negative tactics.....great minds
=========Hart
johnson cahill Jags Baines
===Gerrard Henderson
Sterling Rooney Lallana
======Sturridge
That's the team I said I'd play to a mate yesterday Hengy.
Flashy / Edbo
Prob most people would pick it as quite simply there our most inform players.
Get tactics right and we could be in for a chance off quarters / semis
Most inform and I like the club understanding.
