To be honest this is the right move. Its all to do with the clubs coming have a shed load of cash to get straight back up. Didn't Cardiff receive £62m for being relegated??? How can Championship clubs staying inline with FFP compete??? Its all to do with the Premier League money. Premier League and sod the rest.

Tooting. Derby have been working towards FFP for about 5/6 years. Look at our club, wages and players. Young hungry squad...no big time charlies...and the club without any debt except a mortgage.

I don't think this means FFP has been scrapped. Just that some amendments have not been voted in. The "old" rules are still valid for the time being.

Backo,
This simply plays into the hands of the Oligarchs and Sugar Daddies. For a level playing field, it's necessary to keep spending at all clubs to what the clubs themselves can generate from footballing and merchandising efforts. There is nothing good in having all of the same 4 or 5 clubs winning the football league year after year by their owners chucking hundreds of millions at a load of overpaid primadonnas . Boring, predictable and the big downside to us going up.

I hope we do, just to show QPR that low spending clubs can win. IF - we do win on Saturday (please god), that'll be Burnley and Derby as two teams with moderate spending and only extravagent Leicester making the jump by pumping in the millions.

That is another good reason for our boys to hold their nerve and play as they know hoe.

Ramdini...yes I agree. That's why the other clubs in the Championship must take a stand. You cant have 3 teams coming down with £60/70m to spend and other clubs on a strict budget. The 3 teams will virtually be guaranteed to go straight back up.

I wonder where 'Kick Financial Fair Play Into Touch' Gartside cast his vote?
Having gone £180m in debt to finish above Yeovil and Doncaster, I can understand his reluctance to balance the books. Mind you, the reported £450k received for re-naming the stadium MACRON should herald a whole new beginning.
In fact, it's already started.
Douglas was sharp as a tack, snapping up five, yes FIVE new players for a combined fee of £0.
Or, as Stret might say, an average of £33, 333.

Suppose you come back down after one year in the prem, players on increased wages and parachute payments. What will you do then? Give the money back?

Derby are now a very well run club, and your points are valid.

It's going to be interesting what you do should you go up. You'll have at least 60 million, if you find yourself bottom at Christmas do you spend that (or a large percentage) in the hope you'll get even more in the next year, and the year after that...
