I wont be at many games this season if Keanes in charge.
Shouting swearing and being a d/ck are no great attributes for being a manager. (Lennon aside)

Unless he turns it down then it seems it's his.

My season ticket renewal form will remain firmly in my house and go nowhere near Celtic Park.

This is a shambolic appointment, what is even more embarrassing is the fact we are waiting on him to say Yes or No

When this goes t!t5 up which i'm 99.9% sure it will, the board only have themselves to blame.

Darryl Murphy, Ross Wallace, Anthony Stokes and Dean Whitehead

Everyone else buzzing for these players next season? can't wait to see what average sides we meet in the qualifiers to notice they play better football than us

Yes they are my team which is why i'm not going to be treated like a phanny with this appointment.

If you're not happy with something or someone then tough decisions need to be made. Christ i wasn't overly surprised or dissapointed with Lennon going but now i wish we gave him a 10 year contract.

This will NOT work out Zach, there is nothign to suggest it will but EVERYTHING to suggest it won't

I remember similar negative comments when both Strachan and Lennon were appointed. Over the years Desmond and Lawell have got a lot more right than they've got wrong.

I think they've earned the benefit of the doubt. Keane wouldn't have been by first choice but he'll get my support.

As i said yesterday, it's nothing personal against Keane, i don't blame him for wanting the job.

The problem is he shouldn't be offered it.

It's a very lazy predictable appointment

I just think that both Dermot Desmond and Peter Lawell have done great jobs at Celtic and deserve a bit of respect.

If they deem Keane to be the right man for the job I believe they have earned the right to have their judgement backed in the first instance.

Mick stats paint a very silly picture of most things in football.

He probably has a better win ratio than Michael Laudrup but do you think anyone with half a brain would take Keane over Laudrup?

This job offer simply can't be based on his managerial CV, it's based on him being a Celtic fan, Irish and the type who will have his teams working hard.

We've never had a better chance to get someone in to lay some foundations like Pottochino has at Southampton.

Irvine, i would agree with you mate if this decision was purely based on footballing reasons.

No one can say it is, and if they do then they are dumb as flook

Can we have money spent alongside these win stats?

That says a lot about Keane.

still think Di Canio could get the job

he's a celtic legend

I don't think money spent in England is a reliable way to judge things. Mackay spent £50m when failing to get promotion. It easy to point to players bought for big money and call them flops but we know that very average players down there are moving for £5m+ regularly.

Irvine, again i would agree with that mate..... until i seen he signed Daryl Murphy TWICE for more money

IF they get Keane in, it will generate interest.

If they got Garcia in or a reputable manager with a proven track record of doing well with teams on lower budgets....the media interest would not be there.

Keane's appointment is a jobs for the boys appointment, and it is also a "big name"....thats why it appears to be getting made.

Ultimately, I think the outcome of this will be pretty much the same outcome as the "big name" players that Celtic have signed over the years.....a bit of a flop, costly and rather pointless.

Celtic's ability to perform on the pitch is a sorry second best for the Celtic baord it seems.

They know it is going to take a major fck up for Celtic not to lose the league and not get at the very least get a crack at reaching the Champions League group stages for the foreseeable future.

Lawwell and Desmond are resting on those laurels and are more interested in bringing in a manager who will appeal to the media and will be loved by a section of the support who will lap up the fact that Roy Keane is the Celtic manager....than they are at the prospect of bringing in a manager who will actually take Celtic forward, work wonders with cheap players and youth players, and possibly keep Celtic competitive in the Champions League groups if possible

Garbage! Even on the more 'extreme' fans forums Keane is not a popular appointment.

Dermot Desmond is giving the job to Keane because he has faith in his ability and believes he will do a good job. I for one believes Desmond has done more than enough to merit the fans backing on this.

Will Ian Harte be his assistant?

Jeso man, what's all this cry about getting Garcia in ffs? What's he ever done to merit the job either? As far as I can see he stay's in a job for a season then he's off.

Major overreaction again here.

Try look at the positives. Keane has got vast exp as a player in Europe, he know what it takes on the field so im pretty sure he will be able to coach that into our players for our crack at Europe. The league is a forgone conclusion, next season gives him the chance to build for the next when maybe we get a little more challenge back.

He's a massive figure in football, a hothead yes but we had major slackness creeping into the team last season and I am pretty sure that won't happen with Keane in charge.

Get behind him ffs, he needs it, the team needs it for these qualifiers.

Honestly think some Celtic fans would greet about whoever was given the job, always some complaint about someone.
