I think Fabregas would be an outstanding signing for Chelsea.

Him and Matic in midfield

Costa and Fabregas and I think they will be favourites for the title. They weren't far off this season and didn't have a striker all season.

Chelsea are my favourites to win it next season. Mourinho will be the best Manager in the Premier League and he knows how to win.

What he achieved on strikers that in total were outscored by Lukaku at Everton speaks volumes.

It also shows Jose made a big mistake in letting Lukaku go out on loan. I think Jose is a brilliant manager but he made a big mistake with that one.

If he couldn't outscore Lukaku at Everton with Eto'o, Torres and Ba then it's a massive flaw in his tactics, not a lack of strikers.

Belgium have great individuals, but they aren't a great team. Portugal have made the semis in 4 of the last 6 major tournements.

I would not say it was his tactics. His team scored 30 goals less than your team and all you could bolster was a 2 point lead over them at the end of the season.

It is painfully obvious that Chelsea strikers are nowhere near good enough to win a Premier League. If he had Suarez up front, he'd have walked the league.

It's painfully obvious Mourinho is a defend first and defend second type manager.

He had the easiest league in ages there for the taking and didn't attack enough to win matches.

With a minor adjustment to tactics (only defend first, not first and second..and possibly 3rd) he could have won the title by 7 points easy.

he chose not to in order to focus on a defensive side.

Chelsea lost points against the lesser clubs who sat back and invited pressure.

Chelsea lacked the quality up front they needed to unlock these solid defences in large numbers, hardly Jose's fault with the players he had.

IF they get Costa and Fabregas then they will be the favourites IMO.

You know you lot had the easiest league in ages too and attacked enough to win matches, yet did not win the league.

Like manutd1982 said, he dropped points to lesser clubs who sat back and defended. His strikers were completely incapable of unlocking those defences. He did not have the quality up front.

Who are these people and why are they not in asylums??

That was the most undrwhelming 'great goal' I have ever seen.. I mean what was the keeper doing? No decent keeper is letter a shot only slightly left of centre go in from 20+ yards

we needed to win 14 and draw 1 of our last 15 matches, we needed near perfection

jose needed to win two of 4 matches at the business end of the season against:
Sunderland (1-2) L
Palace (0-1) L
Villa (0-1) L

Jose f%%%ed it up epically because he's too defensive tactically. He sold Mata FFS.

Yet he reapeatatly takes of defenders for forwards when chasing games, jesus i swear some people don't think sometimes.

Jose takes attacking a lot more seriously than Brendan takes defending, all he needed was a 0-0 vs Chelsea but his 'philosophy' knew best.

I don't hate Jose. But other than a couple of years at Real he's been criticised for not attacking enough and using relatively defensive tactics.

A more attacking side would have won the league with ease with Chelsea's side and late season fixtures. Jose chose not to.

Rodgers Philosphy had nothing to do with the Chelsea result. Gerrard miscontrolled a ball then slipped. Season over.

"we needed to win 14 and draw 1 of our last 15 matches"

The ironic thing was if he just toned down his 'philosophy' for the Chelsea game and half an hour at Palace he would have got it.

120 minutes off losing a bit of face to the purist's would have seen the title at Anfield, but Brendan doesn't take defending seriously and it cost him the title.

Ba got a clean run on goal because Sakho and Skrtel were on the half way line miles away from each other, who told them to do that, the tooth fairy?

Like i said he regularly throws extra forwards on for defenders when chasing games, even vs city he took a midfielder off and threw on Eto'o to try and win, which we did.

He shuts up shop a lot when 2 or 3 up, but unless it's a big game, Jose team's always take huge risk's to get the win.
