You may want to take note that AW, nor Arsenal FC are in the process/nor have sold Cesc to Chelsea. It was Barcelona.

We have a buy back clause. What bit of that don't you understand?

If Wenger isn't signing him because he has some other big names up his sleeve, then fair enough.

If on the other hand he has a Remy and Aurier and that is it, then my patience with him is up.

I am fully aware (than most it would seem) of the buyback clause and have been since D ick Law brokered it in 2011.

However the club have chosen not to implement the clause, and concentrate on other targets.

Why get so precious about a player that forced a move away from the club in the first instance.

You are being very unfair on Arsene, it is not his player to sell. Isn't it about time you trust in the man who has delivered you Champions League football since he has come to the club, especially during the times of hardship? He has had one year to spend money, he competed for the title for half-the-season and also won a Cup.

But it is his player to buy and he is actively choosing not to.

So what?

While noting Cesc’s talent he is naturally devoid of pace. An element the team is severely lacking.

IMO the resource could best be used elsewhere.

Some posters seem to think that just because AFC brokered a buyback clause there is some steadfast obligation to act on it.

But we are lacking in midfield. Come next year Arteta and Rosicky will be gone, Ozil isn't interested and Wilshere is chronically injured. Ramsey will get sold to City or Barca/Madrid.

So I would say we very much need him.

Cesc is better than every player currently at the club, including Ramsey and Ozil.

I think the main issue is - Do we trust Wenger to actually buy the required players to address our lack of pace/dominant midfield player/top class striker

History would suggest we probably shouldn't, which is why passing up the opportunity to sign a world class player for a ridiculously low fee is maddening.

Aurier, Vela and Remy would constitute a disastrous window.

As I have mentioned a number of times IMO it is somewhat premature passing judgement until more of the facts are known, and in particular when the club have concluded their business.

IMO it is nonsensical to deride Wenger for dealings he may or may not do.
