Until is officially confirmed, i refuse to believe it.

Why Arsene why

It is really bad business to sign a player just to stop him joining a rival.
We need to focus on our weaknesses and buy to improve them. We have enough work to do without worrying about where an ex-player may end up.

Nah fack cesc, get a top striker and a holding mid before anything else otherwise it's 4th place for us again

D Jeezus - it is actually brilliant business to stop a big talent from moving to a rival. It is done all the time. Why do you think teams overbid for a player if some other team (esp. a rival) from their league is involved. Happens in all sports and football is no different. It is like the proverbial 6 pointer game.

Is it just it me or is everyone making out that WE are the ones selling Fabregas to another club?

Why does everyone keep on about needing a 'world class striker'??? Whilst this is true, Wenger has no intention of spending the required money. So if we're not going to get a world class forward, the next best thing is Cesc.

We are not selling him to a rival club. However we have a first right of refusal. i.e. we can match any bid. Of course if Cesc doesn't agree personal terms, we can't do anything about that.

DJ, what's your take on Cesc? Given his quality do you not think he's worth going for at around £30m even if we do need to invest elsewhere more urgently?

Nah, Just imagine. It is terrible business. Buying a player we don't need, causing us to ignore or go half àrsed into improving our weak points. That would just be bad management.
Get the striker, get the combative midfield, get the back up keeper, get the right back, get the CB cover, get the left sided attacker, and let Cesc go wherever he chooses and make do with Özil, Ramsey, Cazorla, Rosicky, Wilshere, Podolski, Gnabry and Oxlade Chamberlain.

You don't have any choice in the matter but I can see why you would not want him to go to a rival.

I don't think it's you, and it certainly isn't everyone - but some people do seem to be under the impression that Arsenal have sole control over the outcome of this.

Saying wenger won't spend is now a myth, I can see wenger dishing out between 30-50m knowing a top striker becomes available

I actually think that maybe the greater issue to come out of all of this is how we let ourselves get to a point where we need so any players even if we assume only the departures of Sagna and Fabianski.

As far as I'm concerned we should already have the striker and the centre back cover, but have spurned previous windows where we had the chance to do so. If that had been done, we might be in a position where we would have no concerns about signing Cesc.

No. We will end up with Remy.

remy would be a decent buy for arsenal, hed do well playing on the shoulder of the last defender with the quality mf players you have playing him in,

walcott up top?

We should be competing for players like Costa and Cavani now, not shopping around in the bargain bucket for players like Remy.

Walcott's pace is probably ruined by his injury and that is the only useful facet to his game.

hello you said that cesc was only going to arsenal for days and days now hes juda and you dont want him? its ok to change your mind just found it funny.

Remy is hardly bargain bucket but yes you should certainly be in for some of the better strikers going.

personally, I would have Fabregas in even at the expense of Ozil or Cazorla. There, I've said it. I would rather we sold Ozil to get Fabregas, quite simply because on a good season Fabregas can bag more goals than Ozil and Cazorla combined, and provide as many killer passes as either.
I know he's similar in function to Ramsey, but Ramsey was out for crucial stages of last season.
I think it would be madness not to take up the option on Fabregas (if we have it) and deeply distrssing to see him in any other EPL shirt.

Yeah after proper analysis we need to strengthen in other areas, I couldn't see him joining anybody else but I remembered anything happens in football these days

yous will drive yourelves mental over this, until the exact details of this clause come out you have to try to willing to give wenger the benefit of the doubt

Havent heard from him since he extended his contract.
He'll have some insight into whats going on & we'll be able to stop the speculation once and for all
