I don't think that he will ever stop tinkering. if I remember correctly, the Palace fans said he made some strange decisions. I'll bet tinkering was one of them.

The truth is, if players don't sign up to his tinkering, they're out. Either they don't get played, they are loaned out or if they are out of contract they are released. We have seen it since he arrived and he has stated publicly that he would continue to rotate his squad. Happy days in store.

I prefer to try and see Dougie's tinkering as the development of a system and not a team. A as a club we can't afford to buy the best players. What we need is a system regardless of playing staff. They just have to fit the system. With small squads this should avert the wow is me attitude we all had over Holdens injury. As another player comes in who knows the system.
However doing something like this takes time that you don't need if you go out and get the best players.

If we were ever going to keep moritz then we needed him there 1st day of pre season to get propefly fit. Too late for me if he signs for someone late july as he will have continual fitness issues through the season.

Assuming we ain't getting Moritz and Sordell goes through, surely the wages from those players, transfer fee & money we needed for a striker, are enough to entice a bid for LJ???

I think the only way duke or mason will sign on permanent deals is if cash is raised from selling lee or mavies. I don't see any other major saleable assets in the squad. The sordell fee won't even touch the sides.

It's got to make sense to get the Juke & Mason for a combined fee of £ 2-5mil if we are to challenge at the top this season.
That sort of money ain't going to make much differance
And are players we need to take us forward .
