Khedira or Schneiderlin?

You are right about Khedira in the fact he is not a holder. Yet, he is a player willing to do the dirty work, and he would add a physical presence- the two things we need in a new central midfielder.

On that basis, I think he would be better than Schneiderlin, as he is a class above. Fitness is the only concern for me if it comes down to a debate between the two. There must be a reason Real are open to selling him.

Apparently they're desperate to sign Toni Kroos, hence they need to sell to free up space in the squad.

Khedira's stock was pretty high before his injury. I think he's a superior player and it looks likely he might be cheaper than Schneiderlin would be so it's a no-brainer for me. I don't think "adapting to the league" would really be an issue with a player like him. Schneiderlin's good though and younger, plus he might be a nice fit for us. I wouldn't be disappointed with either.

I don't really believe we have "bid" on either of them, or Sanchez or anyone else for that matter. But I guess we're interested, whatever that might mean.

I think Southampton would be very reluctant to let ANOTHER player go this summer, having already lost 3 starters.

Schneiderlin has PL experience, but Khedira has experience playing for a top class team.

Difficult choice. Personally I'd go for Schneiderlin, but I don't think he'll be going anywhere.

Honestly, I dont know where the Khedira talks coming from. German media expect him to sign a new contract at Madrid.

We wont get Khedira.

I'm not saying this talk has any legs, with regards to reality...

But I've read a handful of reports this morning regarding that the player is expected to leave Madrid over the summer. I think that stems from Madrid's pursuit of Toni Kroos.

Personally I think that IF Khedira were available then Mourinho would be at the front of the queue waving Abramovich's cheque-book at Madrid and the player.

Moist, I don't know maybe you're right.

In the German media all expect him to stay at RM but now they signed Kroos appearently might change the whole thing again.

No.

Maybe Wenger wants to go "german"...then the Khedira rumour would fit right in.

If Real Madrid have bagged Toni Kroos for €25m, in the current over-inflated market, that's an absolute steal!

Marca are saying it's all done, I think Bild are saying to the contrary. Still, where there's smoke, there's fire.

Would prefer Martinez to either, personally. Khedira is definitely more of a box-to-box type player as people have said, but I wouldn't call Schneiderlin a pure holder either - last season at least he did seem to have more of a box-to-box role especially when Wanyama played.

Of the two I'd probably opt for Schneiderlin as he's got the premier league experience and probably wouldn't cost as much allowing us to use more resources elsewhere, but as I said personally I'd go all out for Javi Martinez.

Id like us to sign Sami but hes very similar to Rambo Imo. Both box to box players that can tackle very well. I don't think u can play with 2 box to box players. U need someone who will always sit bk like Silva and Petit when Viera was bossing it.

Me too, no doubt about it!

But I think the reports of Bayern being open to selling him were way off the mark.

Also, I'm sure IF Bayern wanted to sell him, they'd at least want their money back, if not a few quid on top of what they originally paid for the player. I'd imagine you'd be looking at somewhere between £35/40 million!

He's well worth that imo, but as I've said, I'd actually be very surprised is Bayern decided that they wanted to sell him.

Yep, it seems that way. But I completely agree, would definitely be worth those types of figures.

Having Khedira would help Ozil ?

Khedira's experience in CL and at big club will help us but French bloke looks promising too. Martinez, not seen him much to comment.

cant we sign both, or is that wishful thinking???

Yeah wishful thinking.

Martinez is not for sale guys.

Khedira would be my 1st choice, he is very good friends with Ozil and may help him settle easier in this country. He is a player we need, as mentioned he can be an real enforcer in the middle of the park.

I really like Schneiderlin but cannot see Southampton part with more players......it would be suicidal for them to do this.....
