Sheesh, welcome home!
Don't think we're going to get any integrity from Cellino, will eventually drive everyone at club crazy.
LIW
Only decent thing about him, is he ain't scottish or German
So ...........with your name and I seem to remember Scottish (capital letter) family connections you don't want a Scot ..
Highland
Sooner you buggers vote for independence, sooner we can rebuild Adrian's wall
Is it true that every person in Scotland pays a portion of income tax for use of English language as they don't have their own any more?
Jonty mate
Think you've got that one wrong
Nobody in Scotland pays income tax
There is no more impressive sight than that if a Scotsman on the make
And with this independence debate we have the whole lot of them at it at once
Last thing they want is independence, when threatening independence pays so well
High, give it to em mate!.

Jonty, that could be true....................like most things the Scots language was bastardised by the English
I for one don't want independence, also, don't know who this Adrian bloke is but I reckon the Emperor Hadrian would be a bit cheesed off if someone called Adrian took credit for building that wall

Met a business contact and a fellow Leeds fan for the first time today. Having dealt with business side of things matters turned to Leeds United and, of course, Cellino.
His view on the main man:
I wish he'd done due diligence on the club before buying it as that would've avoided most of these embarrassing stories coming out in the press. There's a reason why other parties were only offering £7m.
Yes he bought the club but he really needs to buy back ER in November or I'll lose faith with him. I think he's trying to bump up the price for McCormack as he's definitely going but if we don't bring in players on the back of that we're going to be in trouble.
In short not impressed but he's reserving overall judgement until players have come in and ER has been bought.
My view, if Cellino hadn't bought Leeds United we'd have gone into administration again and potentially get relegated either last time around or this season. GFH weren't going to sell for a pawltry amount and debts were building.
He's a maverick, he's not going to do things by the book and whilst some of the stories coming out of the club are bizarre, at least he's getting to grips with the issues.
We live in the glare of the media, jam sandwiches, unwashed kit are some of the pathetic stories that will be exaggerated again and again. It's not good but it ain't going to destroy us. Bates & GFH were both adept at getting us into the press for all the wrong reasons too.
He's from a hugely successful family and has presided over Cagliari for over two decades. Ideal man for the job? Probably not if you're seeking Utopia but he's the man who bought us and the man prepared to make an effort to take this club forward on a proper footing.
I want to see the semblance of a squad that will better compete this season and lay the foundations for future success. I want the financials sorting out. I'm not bothered about ER until we get promoted.
If the squad is worse than in previous seasons and the debts aren't dealt with I won't be happy. And trust me, I'll be more than happy to say so.
Jonty, you had to drag Mr Norwich into thing's didn't you?.
Has that guy in the middle not got something to do with Norwich City?..
I'm sure he has/had something to do with them!.
Massimo Cellino. What are your opinions? GO. Discuss. I am curious to see what you make of him.
My opinion is this, I haven't got a clue how things are going to pan out over time. I think he's off the wall, but I think he's passionate, I think his ownership is going to be annoying and fun in equal measure.
Simple as that.
What I do know is this, from the moment he arrived on the scene I suggested these boards would be joyous...! That has been proven to be true. The humour and the vitriol has gone up seven fold since he arrived waving his bags of Lira...!
(I know but that's what he had under his bed from all his frauds, according to the Italian version of Twitter)
I maintain my stance that it is going to be a hoot watching how it goes.
It is better him than the nameless faceless oik's that might have been after our club..! Squeaky clean or not, they never put up what was asked.
He has started the clear out of dross and none of us have a clue who is coming in to replace them.
He is systematically pruning the at club and, I am sorry if this offends some posters, he's doing what any sensible owner would do if the club he bought was losing what we are allegedly losing a month. Obviously I feel for those that lose their jobs, but I think a businessman that continues to throw money away is probably sillier than one who tries to rectify the situation.
The other thing I like about him is the fact that he likes football.
We can all sit around moping or trying to second guess him, we can analyse as much as we want, we can criticise and we can ridicule his every action or inaction.
Or we can do what I'm going to do. I'm going to wait and see what happens before I pass judgement.
And whilst doing that I am going to support my club and my team just as I have since 1967 and, whatever happens during his tenure, at the end of it I am still going to support this club and the Leeds United team because it is my club.
Simple really.
Buckle up.
The jurys got to be out. Clearly we couldn't carry on with the finances as they were. For some infathomable reason the numbers didn't add up. How can a club with the turnover that we have, not be able to compete with other Championship clubs, if not for consecutive owners siphoning off money in different guises. I'd like to think that we now have an owner that wants to enjoy watching what's being served up on the pitch, rather than salivating over the arrival in the post of his bank statement. Cellino is clearly madcap and will likely tread on a few toes at the FL and the FA, but he clearly doesn't give one. As fans we've had nigh on 10 years of $hit, let's hope that this guy follows through on his commitment to take the club forward. One things for sure, for many reasons this club has always been unique. Having an owner like Cellino is only going to add to that. whether it's in a good way or a bad way, remains to be seen.....
I think that if we lose the first few games, MC will be a mare to be around. I think he thinks he's doing the right things, whether they are, or we think they are. And if those things don't work.....it's going to be someone else's fault, and the 'hairdryer' will be nothing compared to MC's industrial version!
@sport_simon: ..Cellino says he wants players to appreciate salaries/ privileges and not take them for granted. Some earn in wk what fan earns in year
Now comments and decisions like that make me really like MC
The nature of football, management and players is that the juries are always out, that,s the paradigm and it's nothing new, all clubs are subject to this criteria.
side, that's what he says it, just like buying back ER etc
