7. and we should have qualified vs Costa Rica as wel, by far the better team in the match, but still
It's Golden Ball, not Golden Boot, for tournament best player.
The Chile manager pacing up and down his box with his fists clenched, looking like he was coked up and ready to start smashing heads!!
Chile for me they where outstanding for me, the team of the tournement
One of mine was the Belgium USA game--lots of drama, Howard in goal, and very few theatrics from either side--don't recall any clear cut dives.
Germany Brazil for shear size of defeat and clinical finishing.
I think Klose will be in danger from Muller if he doesn't get any serious injuries, both just seem to be right place right time.
You forgot the introduction of shaving foam to WC
Columbia, Chile, Mexico played some nice football, so did France until they met Germany and decided to call it a day at 1-0.
The games were brilliant, in general, and the idea that an individual can be relied on to win the World Cup has hopefully been put to bed this year.
You need a strong team unit and a tactical astute manager. Hopefully the "Just give him the ball" mentality of Brazil, Portugal and Argentina will end now and force them to produce actually footballing teams.
Chile and Columbia were the best part of the World Cup, breath of fresh air.
Rodrigues taking that pen with the child of Godzilla attached to his shirt and not giving a feck.

wonder will we see it in the pl next season
I think the whole social media side of the tournament was good. Liked the funny pics and memes and enjoyed some Twitter posts re: the England squad build up. However, in moderation only.

5. Rodriguez scores in every game. Don't think any player had done this since 1970 so it's an amazing achievement for a WC debutant.
4. Klose breaks the record. Such a gentleman of the game and a true pro, it was great to see him break the record and then go on to win the trophy, cementing his place in history.
3. Spain's elimination. Still astonishes me that they were so easily beaten. The 5-1 humbling at the hands of the Dutch is my game of the tournament.
2. Costa Rica. To get out of that group was mightily impressive, then they held out in the last 16 with ten men, then they took Dutch to pens! Great team spirit.
1. Brazil's humiliation. Never seen anything like it and never will again. For a World Cup game to finish 7-1 at all is pretty remarkable; for it to be in a semi-final, against Brazil, in Brazil, is unimaginable.
