Rio, I thought it was as funny as a similar article I read regarding how serious fundamentalist Jews were (NY post from memory). I do not put my weight behind Israel but sometimes feel it necessary to defend them from one eyed supporters who cannot see the failings of Hamas.

Hey, not putting any weight behind anybody. Just defending a country's right to defend itself from rocket attacks and a desire by all its neighbours to wipe it out.

And Rick's right. Seems like a bit of humour might kill you.

But I do believe there is more than a grain of truth in the sentiment expressed - see my comment to Dal about needing a 300 state solution to sort this lot out. Multiple factions in all Arab countries, fighting each other for self determination and generally being angry at the whole world.

Curly, excuse me if i am being out of order here,but I don't expect you have ever been to the Vatican. It is a tiny place with a population of around 800. they are almost exclusively RC, nuns, priests, bishops, swiss soldiers, a pope etc.

If you could fit a mosque and a synagogue in there you would be architect of the century.

BTW I don't have a problem with religions maintaining their holiest sites for the exclusive use of their faithful. Mecca and various Asian temples are exclusively for the use of their own. The Vatican is not. I have been there several times and witnessed persons of different creeds attending (or maybe those several hundred Japanese tourists in St Peters were all Catholics (who knows, who cares)

Rio, i was not having a go at you, simply saying that theresgonnabeashow was indulging in a bit of humor, nothing wrong with that, I did not find it degrading to Muslims, but to each his own.

Saying that Zionists (most Israelis are not Zionists) are somehow in line with neonazis is similar to saying the an Irish organisation who cannot be mentioned are in line with Islamist extremists (they did have joint training camps in Libya BTW) and is a complete fallacy. Strange bedfellows do copulate from time to time but generalizations such as yours do not promote sensible discourse.

Thats exactly what I have been saying Zionists are not jewish israelis, they have no right to the land they stole which kicked the whole thing off. They are nutters and they are the nutters that keep the whole sorry mess going for their own ideological needs.

Curly, I agree entirely. My earlier post about parts of Jerusalem being a "free state" similar to the Vatican was that it would have to be done on a street by street basis as the many different religious icons are so close together, sometimes shared by more than one religion.
