Chambers is a RB and played quite a few games for Saints last season. He's quality and you can see why Wenger has gone for him, given the success of Walcott and Ox. I think Wenger is keen to sign English talent and this guy could well be the next England RB. Think he's of equal quality to Gibbs, who hasn't yet fully broken into the Arsenal 1st team but I expect them to be their two akin fullbacks within two seasons. It's a lot of money and I agree about the £10m figures for Lascelles being a bit fanciful. However, if a club thinks Lascelles has the same potential then maybe it's not so unrealistic.
It is crazy the amount of money being spent this summer on unproven talents.
Lacelles and Darlow rumours have gone very quiet which is good for us (hopefully.)
Also Burnley placed a bid for Lansbury on Friday but Lansbury himself said he was going nowhere
Who is going to want to go and play for Burnely?
Crazy money being thrown about. 27 mill for Shaw, 16 for this guy. Madness.
Shaw was absolutely ridiculous no way he is worth £27 million.
Southampton is a good example of why the big money clubs will always dominate. They have sold all their "star" players (who couldn't wait to jump ship) despite having a great season, and instead of having a team to build on and push for Europe, they basically have to start again, and I wouldn't be surprised if they really struggle next season. you can't blame them for cashing in though, with silly amounts being thrown at them.
Reminds me of when dear old Stan couldn't wait to join Liverpool, after making it clear that he wanted to sign for Man U...
Southampton have cashed in big time. If I was a Saints fan, I'd be hoping that Koeman has a plan and he hasn't just had the rug pulled out from under his feet.
Lascelles would need a season in the Prem before claims he is worth that kind of money could be argue.
