He has been brilliant yet again today and that was a superb knock of 146 not out and respect to see him come out and start again. Top cricket player, top man

I don't know how he was just given out. Maybe he did hit it, but the replay was definitely inconclusive. I guess he is the only one who knows.

When it comes to picking 'man of the series' its almost always a member of the winning team.

On this occasion I think the decision should go to Dravid and not any of the English contenders.

At the end of the day, he's done what he did under much more challenging circumstances than any of the England players have faced.

Well played Rahul, I remember your debut in 1996 with Ganguly. He has scored centuries in all his 4 tours here, 96,02, 07, 11. He and Michael Vaughan battled for top run scorer in 2002. A tremedous servant to Indian cricket, saving his best form form the best form of the game. TEST CRICKET. Best senario tomorrow, Tendulkar to get that 100 that he needs, and an England win.

Highest run scorers

KP - 533 runs Innings - 6
Bell - 504 - 6
RD - 461 - 8

Care to say anything else so absurdly bias its laughable. Bell and KP have scored more runs than RD in fewer innings.

Redknapp, Dravid has had to face Englands bowlers though, kept wicket, moved around the batting all selflessly and still maintains his brilliance. Personally I'd have Broad as man of the series so far but to say offering Dravid is bias is silly.

Sorry I agree with Redknapp. Not giving the Man of the Series to an England player would be the most absurd decision ever made.
We have pulverised them from start to finish and one of our boys will get that award. End of that conversation

Godba

You could say the same about any successful batsman on a losing side, like KP who was decent during the 5-0 Ashes whitewash. Thus preventing a leading run scorer from a winning side ever winning MOTS again!

Doesn't make sense, RD has been no better than Bell or KP this series. He just looks immense because he's playing alongside fools. In fact this is a pretty average series for him - quality player.

Like I said I'd have Broad but to say that Dravid would be laughable is just not right. He really has been the only resistance.

Dravid as MOS would be ok with me. He's been as consistent as anyone and like Redknapp said, has been taking on a far superior bowling unit than England have had to face.

at redknaps.... i think your players have had an average series as our bowling has been rubbish. You will face the real challenge when you face a proper attack. I think zaheer khan himself would have rolled over your crybaby team. But I guess srilanka and South africa are going to sort you out before you come to india.

Crikey virudagreat. Are you trying to make yourself look more stupid than usual? This England team haven't suddenly started playing well mate, it's been going on for years. Zaheer is an overweight waste of space and that is why he has missed his chance to show us how good you think he is. It is you, and him that are the crybabies mate. We are just playing good cricket. Remember, we are missing several players also.
4:0 It's our time.

It hasn't been that good.

But when Tremlett gets injured England don't moan and cry as if it's the end of the world. We bring someone in who can do the job just as well. Depth as well as strength makes us the best.

Tendulkar has averaged 31,
Laxman 22.75,
Sehwag 10.25,

Dravid is the only Indian player that has turned up and if you think that Zaheer Kahn is the only reason you're getting humiliated, have a look at these world class batsmen that are being silenced by our bowling attack.

You've managed to struggle up to 300 once in the series, that has nothing to do with one of your bowlers being injured.

Like i stated before zaheer is more then likely finished. hes 32 and starting to have injuries,I'd be suprised if he plays more then 15 test matches ever again. So you'll have to get use to him not being there.. Shame you have no one worth his salt coming through?

agree, it would be even more absurd than the wrong dicision given by 3rd umpire.

The last time India were over here, ZK had one good game when India won, he in effect, did a Mitchell Johnson. He's not even been bothered to get fit for this series, and has paid the price.

If that's the best you have to offer, you need help.

Dravid has been a shining light in a very dull team. He actually looks like he cares, when he put those catches down in the last test, it really meant something to him. His team-mates were laughing at how bad they were. Shameful.

'Due to the demands of 20\20 they players cant afford to have 5-6 warm-up games. '

There is your problem summed up in one sentence.

Also, an interesting fact came to light over the weekend on TMS. Geoffrey Boycott has a better ODI average than Sehwag.

-------------------------

Slightly lower strike rate I would imagine

Sehwag's ODI record though is surprisingly average.

Funny thing is Ginger, he was playing an ODI for England one time, and had previously stonewalled his way though the previous game when run were needed. He was told by the management that if he didn't score quickly in this game he'd be dropped. He went out and scored a run a ball 100.

posted on 22/8/11

Sorry, he was batting for Yorkshire v Surrey in that game.

Still, a run a ball ton is good for Boycott.

He ended up on 146 with 15 4's and 3 6's.
