Sagna: Clichy and Nasri told me to join Man

Gasp.

Sorry, that was flippant.

I mean, it's not really a surprise that two former team-mates, and current international team-mates (if Nasri could get in the national side that is) should try to convince him to join them. And that he after 7 years would fancy a change, and why not go to the current top team in the league if you have the chance? I would.

I think the lucrative contract offer may have had a slightly greater appeal than anything Nasri or Clichy had to advise.

Clichy was hardly number 1 choice at City. I'm suprised he'd be trying to convince anyone to join

Yeah, exactly my thoughts. I wouldn't be surprised if it was again just some cheap journalisms without any quote or source.

Unless Clichy (and Sagna) are more than happy with the situation.

Clichy: Yeah Bacary, join us at ManC, you get paid twice as much and for half the effort, and you get to join in on the trophy parades.

Sagna: Ok.

I know there's plenty of cases where a player not playing well or not getting his game but on a bumber contract is happy to sit on the bench but I don't think a player ever joins a club to sit on the bench. They probably feel if i play well I'll be number 1 choice. It doesn't work out so they lose interest. Rodwell and Sinclair spring to mind

all French foofballers have le dream to play for City

That's as maybe WR, but I doubt Sagna has any real expectations to displace Zabaleta as first choice - he's not a complete idiot.

Nah, he's slogged his guts out for 7 years at Arsenal and fancies a change (of pace?). Poor fella's not getting any younger, and at the moment ManC represents a more likely path to bigger trophies and definitely represents a path to more moolah.

I believe the video is on the City website and Bacary actually said that. Plus, I don't believe that his contract is more lucrative than at Arsenal, just that City offered him an extra year.

My understanding was Arsenal offered something around 90k/week with ManC offering "well in excess of" 100k/week plus guaranteed seat on top deck of trophy parade bus whether he plays or not.

Have city offered him much more? I'm yet to see proof of this only paper tattle

posted on 6/8/14

his mates wanted him to play or the same team as them, thats a shock

posted on 6/8/14

what kind of 'proof' do you want? A copy of his P60? I also only have this from 'paper tattle', but it's likely to be true, so that's that for me. Honestly, who cares?

Should be nicer to Bacary, WNM.

Been a really good servant for us, won't be as fondly remembered as others due to lack of trophies whilst he was here and who he left for - that doesn't change that he was a very successful Wenger signing.

posted on 7/8/14

But hes not the player he was neither is verm its time to ship out the deadwood and freshen things up and wenger has so far.

posted on 7/8/14

it proves hes been no good otherwise one of the big boys would have came in for him years ago and the would have jumped at the chance anyway im glad hes gone.

posted on 7/8/14

He was the best RB in the league for three season straight, and only declined due to his leg breaks.

He's not the player he once was, but would you call Lauren a clown? Sagna arguably has been a better player and servant

Wengers should show a bit of respect to a player who gave his all for arsenal.

But what do you expect from a non match going plastic

I though you were actually talking about Wenger when I first read that. Made the last sentence very confusing.
